A Night Full of Stories: Ramadan Togetherness of Al Siddiq International Kindergarten Students

From Tuesday, 10 March 2026 to Wednesday, 11 March 2026, Al Siddiq International Kindergarten organised a Ramadan Night Gathering attended by all students of TK Al Siddiq International. The activity took place in the kindergarten classrooms and around the Al Siddiq International School area. In addition to being part of the school’s Ramadan programme, the event was also combined with the presentation of prizes for the Ramadan competitions previously participated in by the students. The atmosphere throughout the programme was warm, cheerful, and became a memorable new experience for the children. This mabit (overnight stay) activity aimed to introduce children to the experience of worship during the month of Ramadan from an early age in a joyful and meaningful way. Through this activity, the children were encouraged to learn independence, strengthen their sense of togetherness with friends, and develop good habits such as praying, maintaining personal hygiene, and performing acts of worship together. In addition, the presentation of Ramadan competition prizes served as a form of appreciation for the students who had enthusiastically participated in various competitions throughout the month of Ramadan. After the communal iftar programme had concluded and the parents had taken their leave, the children continued the mabit activities by performing the Tarawih prayer in congregation at the school. Afterwards, before bedtime, the children were allowed to enjoy additional snacks that they had brought from home. This moment made the atmosphere even warmer and more enjoyable, as the children shared stories and spent time together with their classmates. As bedtime approached, the children prepared themselves by brushing their teeth and changing into their nightwear. They then recited the bedtime prayer together. Some classes also held a short bedtime storytelling session led by the teachers, allowing the children to rest calmly and comfortably. The night was then spent resting until it was time to wake up for sahur. At 3.30 a.m., the children were awakened to prepare for sahur. They were encouraged to use the bathroom and wash their faces so they could feel refreshed before having the pre-dawn meal together. The sahur session lasted until 4.30 a.m. Afterwards, the children tidied up their bedding before preparing to perform the Fajr prayer in congregation. After the Fajr prayer, the children brushed their teeth again and continued the morning activities with light exercises in the school area. This activity was intended to refresh their bodies after waking up early and to create a cheerful atmosphere. The programme then continued with the presentation of prizes for the Ramadan competitions to the participating students. This moment brought great joy to the children, as they received appreciation for their efforts and courage during the Ramadan competitions at school. After all the activities had been completed, the children were allowed to return home at 7.00 a.m.By Inka Amalia, S.Pd

On Tuesday, 10 March 2026, Al Siddiq Kindergarten held a communal iftar (breaking of the fast) event combined with a charity programme for orphaned children. The activity was attended by the students of Al Siddiq Kindergarten along with their parents. The event took place in the kindergarten classrooms in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Through this activity, the school aimed to create a Ramadan moment that was not only enjoyable for the children but also instilled the values of compassion and sharing with others. The communal iftar aimed to strengthen the relationship between students, parents, and the school. In addition, the charity for orphaned children served as a means of nurturing empathy, social awareness, and the spirit of generosity from an early age. The children were encouraged to understand that Ramadan is a special time to share happiness with others, especially with those in need. Through this activity, it was hoped that the children would develop into individuals who are more caring and grateful. On the day of the event, the students of Al Siddiq Kindergarten arrived at school starting at 4.00 p.m. The programme began with an opening by the master of ceremonies, followed by welcoming remarks from the school director and the chairperson of the school committee. Afterwards, the participants received spiritual guidance through a sermon delivered by Ustadz Dzakky. Following the sermon, the programme continued with a recitation of the Qur’an performed by the kindergarten students from classes TK A, TK B1, and TK B2. This performance became one of the proud moments of the event, as the children demonstrated their courage and abilities in front of their parents and guests. The atmosphere grew more solemn and filled with a strong sense of togetherness. Next, the students of Al Siddiq Kindergarten greeted and shook hands with the orphaned children who were present. On this occasion, charity packages consisting of snacks and basic food supplies were also distributed to the orphaned children. This moment became a valuable experience for the students, as they learned to share and show compassion for others in a simple yet meaningful way. As the time for breaking the fast approached, all participants prepared to perform the Maghrib prayer in congregation. After the call to prayer was heard, the iftar began with drinks and dates. Afterwards, all participants enjoyed dinner together. The shared meal further enhanced the warmth of the Ramadan atmosphere within the school community. After the programme concluded, the orphaned children and the parents took their leave to return home. “Ramadhan of Sharing: Spreading Compassion through the Al Siddiq International School Social Service Programme 2026”

In the spirit of compassion and the humanitarian values taught in Islam, Al Siddiq International School organised a Ramadhan Social Service Programme on Wednesday, 11 March 2026. This activity became an important moment to cultivate empathy, togetherness, and the spirit of sharing with others, particularly with the community living around the school environment. The event was officially opened by the Director of Al Siddiq International School, Mr Ginandjar Citra Cimarga, M.Pd. In his remarks, he stated that social service activities are an essential part of character education for students. Through such programmes, students not only learn academically but also gain a deeper understanding of social awareness, empathy, and responsibility as members of society. The next speech was delivered by the Principal, Mr Amal Dzikrullah, M.Pd, who emphasised the importance of viewing the holy month of Ramadhan as a time to strengthen solidarity and increase acts of kindness. He also expressed appreciation for the involvement of all parties—students, teachers, and the school committee—who contributed to the successful organisation of this social service programme. As a symbol of the beginning of the activity, a ceremonial handover of the social service aid was conducted by the Chairperson of the School Committee, Mr Triyoga, to the Principal. This handover represented a tangible form of collaboration between the school and the committee in supporting social programmes that benefit the wider community. Following the opening session, the programme continued with the distribution of social service packages to residents living around the Al Siddiq International School area. Notably, the distribution process was carried out directly by the junior high school students of Al Siddiq in turns. With great enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility, the students handed the aid packages to members of the community, allowing them to experience first-hand the true meaning of sharing and serving others. The activity took place in a warm atmosphere filled with a sense of togetherness. Smiles and happiness could be seen both from the beneficiaries and from the students who took part. This experience became a valuable lesson for the students, showing them that Islamic values are not only learned in the classroom but are also realised through real actions in everyday life. Through this Ramadhan Social Service Programme, Al Siddiq International School hopes to continue instilling the values of compassion, empathy, and generosity among its students, while also strengthening the harmonious relationship between the school and the surrounding community. Indeed, Ramadhan becomes even more meaningful when its blessings are shared together, in the spirit of generosity, care, and spreading goodness.By Retno suzanne handayani ,Lc, M.Pd

Young Islamic Generation

The Pildacil (Children’s Islamic Speech) Competition and the Calligraphy Colouring Competition were part of a series of activities participated in by Kindergarten A and Kindergarten B students of Al Siddiq International School. These activities were designed to provide a joyful yet meaningful learning experience for young children. Through these two competitions, the children were encouraged to express themselves, develop their creativity, and build self-confidence from an early age. The Pildacil Competition was held on Thursday, 5 March 2026, at Masjid Al Siddiq International. Meanwhile, the Calligraphy Colouring Competition took place on Friday, 6 March 2026, in each classroom. The use of different venues created a more varied atmosphere for the competitions. In the mosque, the children learned to perform in a more formal and solemn setting, while in the classroom they were able to feel more relaxed and focus on their artwork. During the Pildacil Competition, the master of ceremonies called each child’s name one by one to come forward. Each participant appeared wearing a special costume and bringing props they had prepared. They delivered short speeches based on topics provided by their teachers, including fasting, Tarawih prayer, and Eid al-Fitr. Through this activity, the children learned to speak in front of an audience, recall the material they had prepared, and deliver messages with courage and enthusiasm. In the Calligraphy Colouring Competition, each child received a worksheet featuring Arabic calligraphy with the word “Ramadhan”. The children coloured the design according to their own creativity within the 60 minutes allocated. This activity helped develop patience, accuracy, and fine motor skills. In addition, the children began to recognise and appreciate Arabic letters through a fun and engaging activity. The aim of the Pildacil Competition was to instil Islamic values from an early age while training children to speak confidently in public. They learned to convey messages using simple language that they could easily understand. Meanwhile, the Calligraphy Colouring Competition aimed to develop creativity, imagination, and confidence in their own work. The benefits of these two competitions are significant for the development of kindergarten children. The children not only learned about religious topics but also practised discipline, concentration, and respect for their own efforts as well as those of their friends. These experiences of performing and creating will become valuable memories that help shape children into individuals who are confident, creative, and possess good character.By Inka Amalia, S.Pd

Brilliant and Confident Children

The MHQ Competition and the Quiz Competition were two main activities participated in by the Kindergarten A and Kindergarten B students of Al Siddiq International School. These activities were specially designed for young learners, creating a joyful and energetic atmosphere. Through these two competitions, the children not only learned but also practised building their confidence to perform in front of others. The MHQ Competition was held on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, while the Quiz Competition took place on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. Both events were conducted at Masjid Al Siddiq International. Choosing the mosque as the venue created a solemn yet welcoming atmosphere while also introducing the children to the environment of worship from an early age. In the MHQ Competition, each child recited a surah that they randomly selected from a shuffled set of papers. Afterwards, the competition continued with a verse continuation session in which the judges recited part of a verse and the participants were asked to continue it. This format trained the children’s memory, concentration, and courage to perform individually. The children learned to remain calm, stay focused, and try their best. Meanwhile, the Quiz Competition was conducted in groups, with each team consisting of three to five students. Each team was given five compulsory questions related to Islamic knowledge, such as fasting, the Pillars of Islam, the Pillars of Faith, daily supplications, the names of the Prophets, and other related topics. Each correct answer earned 100 points. After the compulsory questions session, the competition continued with quick-response questions, which made the atmosphere even more lively and exciting. Through this activity, the children learned to work together, discuss ideas, and listen to their friends’ opinions before answering. The aim of the MHQ Competition was to instil a love for the Qur’an from an early age while developing the children’s memorisation skills. This activity also helped build their confidence and encouraged them to become accustomed to speaking in front of an audience. Meanwhile, the Quiz Competition aimed to sharpen the children’s ability to think quickly, strengthen their understanding of the material they had learned, and develop teamwork skills. The benefits of these two competitions are significant for kindergarten children’s development. In addition to improving cognitive skills and memory, the children also learned how to manage nervousness, respect their peers, and accept results with good sportsmanship. Activities like these become valuable experiences that help shape not only children’s intelligence but also their character and self-confidence from an early age.By Inka Amalia, S.pd

The Spiritual Journey of Students in Quranic Camp Al Siddiq 2026

In an effort to enhance students’ understanding of Islam while nurturing their love for the Qur’an, Al Siddiq International School organised the Quranic Camp held on 9–10 March 2026 at Masjid Al Siddiq. The activity was attended by students with great enthusiasm and a warm sense of togetherness. The Quranic Camp was designed as a spiritual development programme that emphasised not only theoretical understanding but also the direct practice of acts of worship. The series of activities began with a workshop on the practical aspects of worship, including the correct method of performing wudu (ablution), tayammum, and the ritual bath (ghusl) in accordance with Islamic teachings. Through this session, students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of taharah (purification) as the foundation of a Muslim’s worship. As the time for breaking the fast approached, participants brought ta’jil from their homes to share and exchange with their friends. This moment created a warm atmosphere of togetherness while also teaching the values of sharing, brotherhood, and seeking blessings during the month of Ramadan. After breaking the fast together and performing the Maghrib prayer in congregation, the programme continued with tahsin of the Qur’an, where students improved their Qur’anic recitation under the guidance of their mentors. The evening was filled with qiyamul lail, during which students experienced the spiritual practice of waking in the night to perform voluntary prayers, supplicate, and engage in remembrance of Allah. The highlight of the programme took place the following morning with the khatm (completion) of the Qur’an, symbolising the students’ love for and closeness to the Holy Qur’an. A deeply moving and solemn atmosphere filled the mosque as the final verses of the Qur’an were recited. To conclude the programme, the organisers held a door prize session that brought additional joy to the participants. Happy smiles were seen on the students’ faces as they experienced a unique form of learning—studying religion in an atmosphere that was closer, warmer, and more enjoyable. Overall, the Quranic Camp provided not only practical knowledge about acts of worship but also a meaningful spiritual experience, strengthened the bonds of brotherhood among students, and instilled the values of togetherness and the blessings of Ramadan. With the conclusion of this programme, it is hoped that the students will return home with renewed enthusiasm in worship, improved Qur’anic recitation, and a stronger commitment to practising Islamic values in their daily lives.By : Retno Suzanne Handayani,Lc, M.Pd
