The Warmth of Togetherness, the Sweetness of Eid Treats

The Halal Bihalal activity at TK Al Siddiq was held with great joy on Monday, 30 March 2026. This event became a special moment for the children to celebrate the atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr together with their friends and teachers. Embracing the theme of togetherness, the children were introduced to the tradition of mutual forgiveness while enjoying typical Eid snacks that are closely associated with the festive season. All TK Al Siddiq pupils took part enthusiastically in the series of activities, held both on the Al Siddiq field and in the classrooms. The aim of this Halal Bihalal was to instil values of togetherness, forgiveness, and to strengthen relationships between the children, teachers, and older students from the primary and secondary levels. In addition, the activity sought to introduce the traditions of Eid al-Fitr to children from an early age in an enjoyable and meaningful way. It is hoped that the children will come to understand the importance of respect, sharing, and maintaining social bonds. The programme began with a morning assembly attended by all pupils. This was followed by a session of greeting and handshaking with all Al Siddiq teachers as well as older students from the primary and secondary levels, as a gesture of mutual forgiveness. The activities continued with morning murojaah (Qur’an recitation review) and the performance of the Duha prayer together, ensuring that the children not only developed social skills but also strengthened their religious values. After the worship activities, the children enjoyed snack time featuring a variety of appetising Eid-themed treats. This moment was one of the most anticipated, as the children could experience the distinctive atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr through food. The programme concluded with playtime, where the children played together with their friends before returning home feeling happy and filled with wonderful memories. Through this activity, it is hoped that the children will not only enjoy the excitement of the event but also carry home positive values that can be applied in their daily lives, particularly in practising forgiveness, sharing, and building good relationships with others.By Inka Amalia, S. SD Al Siddiq International conducted the distribution of Mid-Semester Summative Assessment (STS) reports for Semester 2 of the 2025–2026 Academic Year on 3 April 2026. The activity took place after the Eid al-Fitr holiday and was carried out in an orderly and smooth manner. The distribution of STS reports was organised in stages in the school staircase area to ensure orderliness and comfort throughout the activity. Parents and guardians attended according to the scheduled times to receive their children’s academic reports directly from the class teachers. These STS reports provide an initial overview of students’ learning achievements over half of the semester. Through this activity, parents are able to understand their children’s academic progress and use it as a basis for joint evaluation between the school and families to improve future learning outcomes. In addition to receiving the reports, parents were also given the opportunity to have brief discussions with teachers regarding students’ development, both academically and in terms of behaviour during the learning process. The atmosphere of the event was warm and collegial, particularly following the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, which further strengthened the bonds between the school and parents. With the successful distribution of the STS reports, it is hoped that the synergy between the school and parents will continue to flourish in supporting the optimal development of students at SD Al Siddiq International.By: Yundara Ulfa Priatna, M.Pd.

Creativity from Purple Sweet Potato: PJBL at SMP Al Siddiq International School Cultivates Students’ Entrepreneurial Spirit

SMP Al Siddiq International School once again delivered innovative learning through a Project-Based Learning (PJBL) activity centred on entrepreneurship using a local ingredient—purple sweet potato. Conducted over three days, from 31 March to 2 April 2026, the programme provided a contextual learning space that integrated creativity, collaboration, and life skills. From the first day, students were divided into several teams to design product concepts to be developed. Each group discussed and determined a menu based on purple sweet potato that was not only appealing in taste but also had market value. A wide range of creative ideas emerged, from snack foods and refreshing beverages to unique product innovations that combined aesthetics and flavour. In the next stage, students proceeded with purchasing ingredients and preparing for production. With guidance from teachers, they learned to select quality materials, organise production needs, and manage the preparation process effectively. The hands-on production activities carried out at school created a lively, dynamic, and highly engaging learning atmosphere. Beyond production, the PJBL activity also placed strong emphasis on marketing. Students were trained to understand basic marketing principles, including product promotion techniques, setting competitive prices, and creating visual appeal to attract consumers. This experience provided them with a realistic insight into the world of business. The highlight of the programme took place on the third day with an evaluation session by a panel of judges, namely Mrs Pravitasari, S.Psi and Mr Ginandjar Citra Cimarga, S.Pd., M.Pd. The assessment was conducted comprehensively, covering product creativity, taste, innovation, and the marketing strategies implemented by each group. As a closing activity, each group presented their project outcomes in front of teachers and fellow students. This session served as an important platform to develop confidence, public speaking skills, and leadership qualities. With confidence, the students explained their processes, the challenges they encountered, and the strengths of their products. Through this activity, SMP Al Siddiq International School demonstrates its commitment to delivering education that is not only academically oriented but also focused on character development. From a simple purple sweet potato emerged a rich and meaningful learning experience—nurturing creativity, independence, and an entrepreneurial spirit as essential preparation for the future.By Retno Suzanne Handayani,Lc. Active, Healthy, and Cheerful through Basketball Enrichment

The basketball enrichment activity at TK Al Siddiq was held on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, filled with enthusiasm and joy. This activity forms part of the school’s additional learning programmes, designed to provide children with a new and enjoyable introduction to basketball. In an active and interactive atmosphere, children were encouraged to move, play, and learn simultaneously. All TK Al Siddiq pupils participated in the activity, taking part in each session with great enthusiasm. The programme was conducted on the Al Siddiq field, offering ample space for children to move freely. The open and comfortable environment allowed them to engage more confidently in physical activities and interact with their peers. The objectives of this basketball enrichment activity encompass six areas of child development. From a physical and motor perspective, children were trained to improve coordination, balance, and muscle strength through activities such as throwing, catching, and dribbling the ball. Cognitively, they learned to understand simple instructions, recognise directions, and grasp basic game strategies. In terms of language development, children were encouraged to understand and follow instructions, as well as communicate with peers and teachers throughout the activity. From a social and emotional perspective, the activity helped children learn cooperation, patience in taking turns, and emotional regulation during play. In terms of religious and moral values, children were guided to practise honesty, discipline, and sportsmanship. Meanwhile, from an artistic perspective, children were able to express themselves through creative and rhythmic body movements while playing basketball. The series of activities began with a morning line-up and circle time to build readiness. This was followed by performing the Duha prayer together to instil spiritual values. The programme then continued with the basketball enrichment session, where children were introduced to basic techniques in a simple and enjoyable manner. After exercising, the children enjoyed snack time to restore their energy, followed by murojaah (Qur’an recitation review), before preparing to return home. Through this activity, it is hoped that children will not only gain physical benefits but also develop holistically across various aspects. The basketball enrichment programme serves as both an enjoyable and meaningful learning experience, helping children grow into healthy, active, and confident individuals.By Inka Amalia, S. Pd

“Weaving Hearts Anew on Eid, Renewed Steps with Firm Resolve: A Portrait of the School’s Halal Bihalal”

30 March 2026 — A warm and meaningful atmosphere enveloped Al-Siddiq International School during the series of Halal Bihalal activities following Eid al-Fitr 1447 AH. This occasion was not merely an annual tradition, but also an inner space to rebuild togetherness, purify the heart, and reaffirm a renewed spirit after the holiday period. The series of events began on Friday, 27 March 2026, with a Halal Bihalal gathering for teachers held at the school mosque on the first floor. The event proceeded solemnly with a religious talk delivered by Ustaz Abdullah Harist, Lc, M.Pd, who emphasised the importance of sincerity in service, strengthening ukhuwah (brotherhood), and making Eid al-Fitr a starting point for self-improvement. This was followed by a heartfelt exchange of forgiveness, as teachers shook hands, expressed their apologies sincerely, and renewed their intentions in carrying out their responsibilities as educators. The warmth continued on Monday, 30 March 2026, when all students participated in the Halal Bihalal with great enthusiasm. The occasion was further enlivened by a potluck and cake exchange among students. The variety of dishes brought from home symbolised the spirit of sharing, while also bringing joy and strengthening bonds of friendship. More than simply sharing food, the essence of this activity lay in the moment of mutual forgiveness. Students greeted one another, dissolving any barriers that may have formed. With deep respect, they also visited their teachers, seeking forgiveness and prayers as provisions for continuing their learning journey with a purified heart. Held two weeks after Eid al-Fitr, the event carried deeper meaning. The holiday period had served as a time to “recharge” faith and spirit. Now, the entire school community has returned with renewed energy, ready to embark on their learning journey with optimism and dedication. As a closing, the school also delivered a briefing on programmes for the coming month. These plans are expected to provide shared direction in fostering more structured, productive, and achievement-oriented educational activities. In the purity and joy of the Eid atmosphere, this Halal Bihalal serves as a reminder that the strength of a community lies in togetherness and sincerity. From forgiveness comes tranquillity, and from unity grows hope—guiding the entire school community forward with renewed spirit towards a brighter future.Retno Suzanne Handayani,Lc.M.Pd
