Sharpening Precision and Readiness: TO2 TKA Builds Students’ Confidence

Bekasi, 2 April 2026 — A serious yet enthusiastic atmosphere was evident in the Computer Laboratory of Al Siddiq International School during the implementation of the second Try Out of the Academic Competency Test (TO2 TKA). This activity was attended by Year 9 male and female students as part of a systematic effort to prepare themselves for the actual examination. The TO2 TKA was conducted in an orderly manner under the direct supervision of the Principal, Mr Amal Dzikrullah, S.Pd., M.Pd. His presence not only ensured the smooth running of the activity but also served as tangible support for the students as they faced an important stage in their academic journey. The subjects tested in this TO2 TKA included Bahasa Indonesia and Mathematics—two fundamental areas that serve as key indicators of students’ academic ability. From the outset, participants appeared focused and committed as they worked through each question, making careful and measured use of their time. This try-out was not merely a practice session, but also a means of reflection for students to assess their level of readiness. Through this activity, students learned to recognise their strengths and weaknesses, enabling them to develop more effective and targeted study strategies. On the other hand, the TO2 TKA also trained essential skills such as time management, speed, and accuracy in answering questions. Under the pressure of limited time, students were required to remain calm, focused, and think clearly—abilities that are crucial for success in the actual examination. Beyond academic achievement, this activity also helped to build students’ mental resilience. They were trained to face challenges with confidence, manage anxiety, and maintain concentration in competitive situations. Thus, the readiness developed was not only academic but also psychological. Through the implementation of TO2 TKA, it is hoped that Year 9 students will become more mature in developing strategies, better prepared for their final examinations, and able to demonstrate their full potential. The enthusiasm and dedication shown throughout the activity reflect a strong determination to achieve optimal results in the future.By : Retno Suzanne Handayani,Lc. M.Pd

Creativity from Purple Sweet Potato: PJBL at SMP Al Siddiq International School Cultivates Students’ Entrepreneurial Spirit

SMP Al Siddiq International School once again delivered innovative learning through a Project-Based Learning (PJBL) activity centred on entrepreneurship using a local ingredient—purple sweet potato. Conducted over three days, from 31 March to 2 April 2026, the programme provided a contextual learning space that integrated creativity, collaboration, and life skills. From the first day, students were divided into several teams to design product concepts to be developed. Each group discussed and determined a menu based on purple sweet potato that was not only appealing in taste but also had market value. A wide range of creative ideas emerged, from snack foods and refreshing beverages to unique product innovations that combined aesthetics and flavour. In the next stage, students proceeded with purchasing ingredients and preparing for production. With guidance from teachers, they learned to select quality materials, organise production needs, and manage the preparation process effectively. The hands-on production activities carried out at school created a lively, dynamic, and highly engaging learning atmosphere. Beyond production, the PJBL activity also placed strong emphasis on marketing. Students were trained to understand basic marketing principles, including product promotion techniques, setting competitive prices, and creating visual appeal to attract consumers. This experience provided them with a realistic insight into the world of business. The highlight of the programme took place on the third day with an evaluation session by a panel of judges, namely Mrs Pravitasari, S.Psi and Mr Ginandjar Citra Cimarga, S.Pd., M.Pd. The assessment was conducted comprehensively, covering product creativity, taste, innovation, and the marketing strategies implemented by each group. As a closing activity, each group presented their project outcomes in front of teachers and fellow students. This session served as an important platform to develop confidence, public speaking skills, and leadership qualities. With confidence, the students explained their processes, the challenges they encountered, and the strengths of their products. Through this activity, SMP Al Siddiq International School demonstrates its commitment to delivering education that is not only academically oriented but also focused on character development. From a simple purple sweet potato emerged a rich and meaningful learning experience—nurturing creativity, independence, and an entrepreneurial spirit as essential preparation for the future.By Retno Suzanne Handayani,Lc. Brilliant and Confident Children

The MHQ Competition and the Quiz Competition were two main activities participated in by the Kindergarten A and Kindergarten B students of Al Siddiq International School. These activities were specially designed for young learners, creating a joyful and energetic atmosphere. Through these two competitions, the children not only learned but also practised building their confidence to perform in front of others. The MHQ Competition was held on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, while the Quiz Competition took place on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. Both events were conducted at Masjid Al Siddiq International. Choosing the mosque as the venue created a solemn yet welcoming atmosphere while also introducing the children to the environment of worship from an early age. In the MHQ Competition, each child recited a surah that they randomly selected from a shuffled set of papers. Afterwards, the competition continued with a verse continuation session in which the judges recited part of a verse and the participants were asked to continue it. This format trained the children’s memory, concentration, and courage to perform individually. The children learned to remain calm, stay focused, and try their best. Meanwhile, the Quiz Competition was conducted in groups, with each team consisting of three to five students. Each team was given five compulsory questions related to Islamic knowledge, such as fasting, the Pillars of Islam, the Pillars of Faith, daily supplications, the names of the Prophets, and other related topics. Each correct answer earned 100 points. After the compulsory questions session, the competition continued with quick-response questions, which made the atmosphere even more lively and exciting. Through this activity, the children learned to work together, discuss ideas, and listen to their friends’ opinions before answering. The aim of the MHQ Competition was to instil a love for the Qur’an from an early age while developing the children’s memorisation skills. This activity also helped build their confidence and encouraged them to become accustomed to speaking in front of an audience. Meanwhile, the Quiz Competition aimed to sharpen the children’s ability to think quickly, strengthen their understanding of the material they had learned, and develop teamwork skills. The benefits of these two competitions are significant for kindergarten children’s development. In addition to improving cognitive skills and memory, the children also learned how to manage nervousness, respect their peers, and accept results with good sportsmanship. Activities like these become valuable experiences that help shape not only children’s intelligence but also their character and self-confidence from an early age.By Inka Amalia, S.pd
