SD Al Siddiq International Conducts Hero’s Day 2025 PJBL Activit

On Tuesday, 11 November 2025, SD Al Siddiq International carried out a Project-Based Learning (PJBL) activity to commemorate Hero’s Day, which is observed annually on 10 November. The activity was designed to instil the values of patriotism and to help students better understand the struggles of the nation’s heroes through enjoyable and creative tasks. All students from Year 1 to Year 6 took part in this programme. Through the PJBL approach, students not only received information but also engaged actively in a process of creating work that reflected their understanding of heroic values. This served as an opportunity for the school to strengthen students’ character through project-based learning. For students in Years 3 to 6, the activity focused on a project to draw national heroes. They were given the opportunity to choose their favourite hero, such as Cut Nyak Dien, R.A. Kartini, General Sudirman, Bung Tomo, and others. After learning more about their chosen figure, students expressed their inspiration by creating artwork that depicted the heroic character of the hero. Meanwhile, students in Years 1 and 2 took part in colouring and decorating hero-themed pictures. This activity was adapted to the developmental abilities of younger children, allowing them to express their creativity through bright colours, stickers, glitter, and other decorative elements. Teachers also shared short stories about the heroes they were colouring, enabling the activity to build basic historical knowledge in an engaging way. The Hero’s Day PJBL activity was carried out with great enthusiasm. Classrooms and school areas were filled with lively scenes of students working diligently, discussing with teachers, and striving to produce their best work. The students’ creations were then displayed around the school as a form of appreciation and as inspiration for the wider school community. Through this activity, SD Al Siddiq International hopes to instil the values of heroism and a love for the nation from an early age. By getting to know heroic figures through visual art, students are expected to emulate qualities such as courage, discipline, selflessness, and determination in their daily lives. This activity stands as clear evidence that learning can be meaningful, enjoyable, and rich in character values.By: Yundara Ulfa Priatna, M.Pd

Exciting Profession Class at SD Al Siddiq International with the Indonesian Post Office

SD Al Siddiq International once again held its Profession Class activity, this time featuring representatives from Pos Indonesia. The event was warmly welcomed by all pupils, as they had the opportunity to learn directly from postal officers about the various services and activities carried out at the post office. The Pos Indonesia team not only provided explanations but also brought an operational postal vehicle to the school grounds. The children were visibly excited to see the inside of the vehicle and to listen to explanations about how letters are collected, sorted, and dispatched to various regions across Indonesia. In addition to gaining new insights, the pupils also practised writing their own personal letters. These letters would be posted using special stamps featuring each child’s photo, making the experience even more unique and memorable. The children looked proud as they placed their personalised stamps onto the envelopes before handing them over to the postal officers. Through this activity, the pupils of SD Al Siddiq International not only gained a closer understanding of the postal profession but also learned about the importance of written communication and the process of sending letters—an experience they rarely encounter firsthand today. The Profession Class activity ran smoothly, joyfully, and meaningfully. The teachers hope that this experience will nurture curiosity and appreciation for the many professions that play an important role in everyday life.By: Yundara Ulfa Priatna, M.Pd.

A Little Adventure in the Universe!

The Kindergarten B pupils of Al Siddiq International took part in a four-day Project-Based Learning (PJBL) activity themed Solar System, held from Monday to Thursday, 20–23 October 2025. The activity took place in each classroom under the guidance of their homeroom teachers. Through this project, the children were encouraged to learn about the solar system in a creative and enjoyable way, while also developing their motor skills, teamwork, and confidence in presenting their work. The main goal of this activity was to introduce the basic concept of the solar system to young learners, while also nurturing their creativity and understanding through hands-on experiences. The children not only learnt the names and order of the planets, but also explored their relative sizes, colours, and orbital positions within the solar system. The project was designed to spark curiosity and inspire a sense of exploration in science and the universe. On Monday, the children began by creating planet shapes from crumpled recycled paper, moulding them according to each planet’s size. For example, Jupiter was made the largest, while Mercury was the smallest. This activity aimed to help them understand planetary size differences in a concrete way, rather than only through pictures. On Tuesday, the children painted their planets using acrylic paints. The colours were chosen based on examples provided by the teachers — red for Mars, bluish-green for Earth, and golden yellow for Saturn. The children were very enthusiastic in choosing colours and paying attention to details to make their planets look as realistic as possible. Wednesday’s session focused on making the sun and the planetary orbits. The children painted a bright, cheerful sun, then drew circular orbits where the planets would later be placed. Thursday marked the highlight of the project, when the children attached their planets to the orbits using glue guns, assisted by the teachers. Afterwards, each child had the opportunity to briefly present their artwork in front of their classmates. The PJBL Solar System activity became a fun and meaningful learning experience for the children. They gained valuable lessons not only about the solar system but also about cooperation, creativity, and confidence in expressing themselves. Through project-based learning like this, the pupils’ enthusiasm for learning grows naturally, filled with curiosity and joy for discovery.By Inka Amalia, S.Pd
