Little Voices, Great Confidence: A Special Day with Miss Emma!

On Friday, 16 October 2026, the children of TK Al Siddiq International took part in a special conversation session with a native speaker, Miss Emma. The activity took place in the kindergarten dining room in a cheerful atmosphere filled with enthusiasm. It gave the children an opportunity to interact directly in English in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. The day began with circle time, when the children gathered to greet their friends, pray together, and prepare for the activities ahead. This moment helped create a positive learning atmosphere and encouraged the children to feel ready and engaged throughout the day. After circle time, the TK B children proceeded to perform the Duha prayer, while the TK A children joined Miss Emma for their conversation session. During the session, the children were encouraged to communicate in English through simple conversations. They had the opportunity to listen to English pronunciation first-hand, practise saying new words, and respond to questions from Miss Emma. Once the first session had finished, the two groups switched activities. The TK A children performed the Duha prayer, while the TK B children took part in the session with Miss Emma. This arrangement ensured that every child had an equal opportunity to interact and learn English directly. It was a valuable way to introduce English as a language used in everyday life, rather than simply a subject learnt in the classroom. Through these conversations with a native speaker, the children were encouraged to develop greater confidence in speaking English. They also had the opportunity to expand their vocabulary, practise their listening skills, and become more familiar with understanding simple English conversations. More importantly, interacting directly with Miss Emma provided the children with a valuable and enjoyable learning experience. They learnt that trying to speak is an important part of the learning process and that they should not be afraid of making mistakes when using a new language. After completing the conversation sessions, the children enjoyed snack time together. This break gave them time to enjoy their snacks, socialise with their friends, and recharge before continuing with the next activity. The day continued with journaling, an activity in which children express their experiences, ideas, and learning through writing or drawing according to their developmental stage. This activity helped develop their fine motor skills and creativity, while also encouraging them to recall and reflect on their experiences throughout the day. Through activities such as the conversation session with Miss Emma, TK Al Siddiq International continues to provide enjoyable, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences for every child. By offering opportunities for direct communication, the school hopes to nurture children’s confidence in using English, strengthen their curiosity, and encourage them to become active learners who are willing to try new things. At the end of the day, the children prepared to return home, bringing with them new experiences, happy memories, and exciting stories to share.By Inka Amalia, S.Pd

SD Al Siddiq International Sends Teacher to Attend Deep Learning Activity Design Training

SD Al Siddiq International sent one of its teachers, Mrs Fabia, to participate in a professional development activity entitled Designing Deep Learning Activities for Lower Primary School Teachers in Pondok Gede District. The event was held on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, at PUSKOM ASN, Indonesian National Armed Forces Headquarters (Mabes TNI), Jalan Raya Hankam, Jatimakmur, Pondok Gede. The activity aimed to enhance teachers’ understanding and skills in designing deep learning activities that align with students’ characteristics and learning needs, particularly at the lower primary level. Through this programme, teachers were expected to develop learning strategies that are more meaningful, interactive, and enjoyable. Deep learning is an educational approach that encourages students not merely to memorise or receive information, but to develop a thorough understanding of concepts, connect their knowledge with everyday experiences, and apply what they have learnt in a variety of situations. This approach emphasises learning experiences that are mindful, meaningful, and joyful, enabling students to participate actively in the learning process. For lower primary teachers, implementing deep learning is particularly important because students are still developing essential cognitive, social, emotional, and practical skills. Teachers therefore need to design learning activities that suit children’s developmental stages, incorporate a variety of teaching methods, and provide concrete learning experiences closely connected to everyday life. Through this activity, the teacher representing SD Al Siddiq International had the opportunity to broaden her knowledge, exchange experiences with fellow educators, and strengthen her skills in designing learning activities that foster curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and active student participation. The knowledge gained is expected to support the development of more effective and innovative teaching and learning practices at school. The participation of an SD Al Siddiq International teacher in this programme reflects the school’s commitment to continuously improving educational quality through the ongoing professional development of its educators. Teachers play a vital role in creating learning experiences that extend beyond academic achievement to support students’ character development, independence, and essential life skills. Following the activity, Mrs Fabia is expected to apply the knowledge and experience gained to classroom teaching and learning. In this way, learning at SD Al Siddiq International can continue to evolve, becoming more meaningful and enjoyable while accommodating the diverse learning needs of every student. By participating in a range of professional development activities, SD Al Siddiq International continues to encourage its teachers to learn, innovate, and improve the quality of education. These efforts are expected to contribute to the delivery of high-quality education and the development of a generation that is principled, creative, independent, and ready to face the challenges of the future. SMP Al-Siddiq International Welcomes English-Speaking Native Speaker to Strengthen Students’ Global Communication Skills

Bekasi, 16 October 2026 — English language proficiency is a key competency for young people as they navigate digital transformation and global competition. As technological advances continue to expand access to information and cross-border collaboration, mastering English involves more than understanding grammar and answering questions. It also requires the ability to communicate effectively, understand context, and express ideas with confidence. Recognising the importance of these skills, SMP Al-Siddiq International welcomed Mrs Emma, an English-speaking native speaker, for a special learning session on Friday, 16 October 2026. The activity formed part of the school’s bilingual programme, which is held every semester to strengthen students’ English communication skills through authentic learning experiences.Creating an Authentic Language-Learning ExperienceMrs Emma’s presence gave students the opportunity to interact directly with a speaker from a different linguistic and cultural background. Through these interactions, students practised pronunciation, intonation, vocabulary selection, and appropriate responses in conversation. This experience offered valuable educational benefits. Students learnt not only to understand language as a set of rules, but also to use it as a means of sharing information, exchanging ideas, asking questions, and building mutual understanding. They also learnt that effective communication does not always require perfect sentences; it takes the courage to try, the ability to listen, and a willingness to learn from mistakes. This approach is particularly relevant in modern education, where communication, critical thinking, collaboration, and adaptability are essential twenty-first-century skills.Contextual Learning Tailored to Each Year GroupThe learning sessions were designed around different themes for each year group, ensuring that the material was relevant to students’ experiences and communication needs. Year 7 students explored the theme “Fashion and Clothing” in their classroom. Through this topic, they practised clothing-related vocabulary, describing appearances, and expressing personal preferences in English. Year 8 students took part in a session entitled “Travel and Modern Technology” in the Science Laboratory. The topic connected language skills with technological developments and travel experiences, allowing students to explore how English can be used in the context of modern life. Meanwhile, Year 9 students studied the theme “Exciting Travel” in the Science Laboratory. This topic encouraged them to develop their storytelling skills, share experiences, and express ideas and travel plans in a more structured way. The use of contextual themes demonstrated how language learning can be integrated with everyday experiences and knowledge from different subject areas. As a result, students had opportunities to use English functionally rather than simply memorising vocabulary. Throughout the sessions, students showed great enthusiasm. They confidently asked questions, attempted answers, and expressed their ideas in English. Their active participation reflected a supportive learning environment that encouraged engagement and gave students opportunities to develop their communication skills.Bilingual Education: Preparing Students for the FutureFor SMP Al-Siddiq International, the native speaker programme is part of the school’s commitment to providing learning experiences that align with the demands of global education. English proficiency is expected to equip students with the skills to access international sources of knowledge, keep up with developments in science and technology, and participate in an increasingly interconnected academic and professional world. However, global competence extends beyond language proficiency. Communication skills must be accompanied by strong character, independence, critical thinking, and an open-minded attitude towards differences. For this reason, cross-cultural learning experiences are an important part of preparing students to engage with the global community. Through its bilingual programme, held every semester, SMP Al-Siddiq International continues to develop communicative, contextual, and practical English learning that meets students’ real-world needs. The session with Mrs Emma was one example of this commitment, positioning students as active participants in their learning and English as a practical skill for connecting with the wider world.
