Qur’an Munaqosyah: An Effort to Preserve Mutqin Memorisation and Shape Qur’anic Character

Al Siddiq International School once again organised an important programme in nurturing students’ Qur’anic character through the Qur’an Munaqosyah, held from Monday to Friday, 9–13 February 2026. This activity is one of the school’s flagship programmes aimed at ensuring that the quality of students’ Qur’an memorisation is maintained at an optimal level. Munaqosyah is a comprehensive evaluation process of the Qur’an memorisation possessed by the students. During this activity, each participant is directly assessed by the Munaqosyah Team, consisting of examiners who are highly competent in the fields of tahfizh (Qur’an memorisation) and Qur’anic studies. The students are required to recite their memorised verses in a tartil manner while also responding to various forms of testing that assess the strength and accuracy of their memorisation. The implementation of munaqosyah is not merely a means of academic evaluation but also serves broader educational purposes. Through this activity, the school seeks to measure students’ Qur’an memorisation objectively while also assessing the accuracy of their application of tajwid and the correct articulation (makhraj) of each letter in the verses they recite. With a systematic assessment process, the students’ memorisation can be ensured to reach the level of mutqin—memorisation that is strong, fluent, and accurately preserved. In addition, munaqosyah also functions as a medium for developing the students’ mental resilience. By reciting in front of the examiners, students are trained to develop confidence, composure, and mental readiness in presenting their Qur’an memorisation openly. This experience is expected to help build strong character while also improving discipline in maintaining their memorisation. Furthermore, the munaqosyah serves as a standardisation process for graduation within the Qur’an tahfizh programme at Al Siddiq International School. Every memorisation achievement attained by the students must go through a strict verification process, ensuring that the quality of graduates remains consistent and meets clearly defined standards. More than just an assessment process, munaqosyah also serves as a meaningful moment to deepen students’ love for the Qur’an. Through the processes of memorising, preserving, and testing their memorisation, students are encouraged to realise that the Qur’an is not only meant to be memorised, but also to be understood, preserved, and practised in daily life. As one of the flagship programmes of Al Siddiq International School, the munaqosyah demonstrates the school’s commitment to nurturing a generation that excels not only academically but also maintains a strong connection with the Qur’an. Through continuous guidance and development, it is hoped that the students will grow into a Qur’anic generation with noble character, strong knowledge, and the ability to contribute positively to society. Learning Patterns and Colours through Ramadan Creations

In welcoming the spirit of Ramadan, pupils of Kindergarten A and Kindergarten B at Al Siddiq International took part in two creative activities held in their respective classrooms. On Wednesday, 25 February 2025, the children created mosque-themed stamps. The following day, Thursday, 26 February 2026, they continued with an activity making ketupat decorations. Both activities were designed as part of enjoyable thematic learning suited to the developmental stage of early years children. In the stamping activity, the teacher first prepared mosque-shaped templates. For Kindergarten A pupils, the mosque patterns had already been cut out by the teacher so that the children could focus directly on the stamping process. Meanwhile, Kindergarten B pupils were given the opportunity to cut out their own mosque patterns under the teacher’s guidance. The teacher then distributed plain sheets of paper as the base. The children applied paint to the template and stamped it repeatedly until the entire surface of the paper was covered in colour. The most eagerly awaited final step was removing the mosque template, revealing a neat and attractive mosque silhouette on their paper. The following day, the activity continued with making ketupat decorations. For Kindergarten A pupils, the teacher had prepared circular paper cut-outs ready to be arranged. The children arranged them in an A-B-A-B pattern, learning to recognise simple repeating sequences. Once the arrangement was complete, they added a hanging ornament at the bottom and a string at the top as the finishing touch. For Kindergarten B pupils, the teacher prepared half of the circular pieces, while the remaining pieces were made by the children themselves. After all the parts were ready, they arranged them in the same pattern and added a hanging ornament and string so that the decoration could be displayed. These activities served several important purposes. In addition to introducing symbols associated with Ramadan, such as mosques and ketupat, they also helped develop fine motor skills through cutting, sticking, stamping, and pattern-arranging tasks. The children learned to follow step-by-step instructions, practised concentration, and developed creativity in selecting and combining colours. In particular, during the ketupat arrangement activity, they were introduced to the basic concept of patterns and sequences. Through these activities, Kindergarten A and Kindergarten B pupils not only produced beautiful creations but also gained meaningful learning experiences. The differing levels of independence between the two classes formed part of the learning process, adjusted to their respective ages and abilities. The classroom atmosphere was lively and full of enthusiasm. With activities such as these, learning becomes more enjoyable while strengthening the children’s understanding of the meaning and traditions of Ramadan.By Inka Amalia, S. Pd

Each group strived to provide the best service and to promote their products in unique ways. This activity became a practical learning experience about responsibility, honesty, and hard work. The final session was conducted on Thursday, 12 February 2026, with Classes 1A and 1B. Although they are in the lower years, their enthusiasm was no less remarkable. With guidance from their teachers, they learned the basic concepts of buying and selling, from stating prices to receiving payments. This experience became a valuable opportunity for them to learn through play. The Market Day activities were truly festive and vibrant. All pupils looked happy and eager. Teachers and staff of Al Siddiq International also took part by shopping and offering their full support to the pupils. Even pupils from the Kindergarten and Secondary levels under the Al Siddiq International School foundation joined in by making purchases, making the sense of togetherness even warmer. Through this event, pupils not only learned about entrepreneurship but also developed communication skills, basic management abilities, creativity, and teamwork. Market Day served as a meaningful and enjoyable form of contextual learning. It is hoped that this experience will nurture independence and an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age in every pupil, while strengthening the bond within the entire Al Siddiq International community.By: Yundara Ulfa Priatna, M.Pd.

Farewell to the Headteacher as a Form of Institutional Appreciation by the School Committee and Student Council

Friday, 27 February 2026 marked a deeply meaningful moment for the entire Al-Siddiq International School community. Held at the Al Siddiq International School Mosque on the second floor, the farewell ceremony for the Headteacher, Mr Yusuf Yudhana, S.Pd, took place following a collective dhikr, creating a solemn, reflective, and emotional atmosphere. The recitation of dhikr echoing throughout the main prayer hall was not merely the opening of the programme, but a symbol that every leadership role within an educational institution is grounded in spiritual values and moral responsibility. From that blessed space, prayers were offered, accompanying a leadership transition that has left its own historical imprint. Appreciation and Reflection on Leadership In her address, the representative of the School Committee, Mrs Delta Jagad, conveyed her deep appreciation to Mr Yusuf Yudhana, S.Pd, for his dedication and service. “Leadership is not merely a position, but a civilisational trust. In the hands of a leader, direction is determined and culture is shaped. Thank you for your unwavering dedication in advancing Al-Siddiq International School.” Her remarks reflected recognition of a leadership approach focused not only on programme achievements, but also on cultivating a progressive and character-driven school culture. Meanwhile, in his farewell speech, the Headteacher delivered a heartfelt and sincere message. “This school is not merely a place of learning, but a space where character and great aspirations grow. If today we see our children becoming more confident, more virtuous, and more accomplished, it is the result of our collective efforts.” He also expressed his gratitude to the teachers, the School Committee, and all students for their collaboration and support throughout his tenure. For him, every achievement attained was the fruit of togetherness, not of individual effort alone. The farewell was emphasised not as the end of togetherness, but as a change of role within the wider stage of service. Leadership may change, but the values and spirit that have been instilled must continue. The school will keep moving forward, built upon the foundations of unity, integrity, and prayer. The event concluded with a collective prayer led solemnly, seeking blessings for every step of service that has been undertaken. The emotional atmosphere deepened as teachers, students, and members of the School Committee exchanged handshakes and mutual forgiveness with the Headteacher. The moment became a powerful symbol of the strong familial bonds that have been formed — not merely a ceremonial farewell, but a meeting of hearts grounded in respect, gratitude, and sincere prayers for continued service in the years to come.By Retno Suzzane, Lc, M. Colourful Lanterns and Mosaics for Ramadan

In welcoming the holy month of Ramadan, pupils from Kindergarten A and Kindergarten B at Al Siddiq International took part in a creative activity making lanterns and mosaic hangings shaped like the moon and stars. The activity became both an enjoyable and meaningful moment for the children. With classrooms filled with enthusiasm, they learned while creating, using their own hands and imagination. The lantern-making activity was held on Monday, 23 February 2025, in their respective classrooms. The teachers first printed out the prepared lantern templates. The children then decorated them by colouring according to their creativity. For Kindergarten A, the words “Ramadan Mubarak” were already printed on the template, allowing them to focus on colouring and enhancing the design. Meanwhile, the Kindergarten B pupils wrote “Ramadan Mubarak” themselves using crayons before decorating their lanterns. During the process, Kindergarten A pupils were still assisted by teachers when cutting out the templates and gluing the pieces together. In contrast, Kindergarten B pupils completed the task more independently, with teachers only guiding them through the steps. The following day, Tuesday, 24 February 2026, the activity continued with the creation of moon and star mosaic hangings. Teachers prepared origami paper as the main material and printed out moon and star patterns. The children then filled the patterns by sticking on small pieces of colourful paper. Once the entire surface was neatly covered, the finished work was cut out following its shape and fitted with a string so that it could be hung as a decoration. This activity aimed to introduce the meaning and atmosphere of Ramadan to the children from an early age in a fun and age-appropriate way. In addition, it helped to develop fine motor skills through colouring, cutting, sticking, and writing activities. The children learned to follow instructions, to be patient in completing their tasks, and to build confidence when seeing their finished creations. The differing levels of independence between Kindergarten A and Kindergarten B also formed part of the learning process, adjusted to each stage of development. Through the lantern and mosaic-making activities, the pupils of Kindergarten A and Kindergarten B not only produced beautiful Ramadan decorations but also gained valuable learning experiences. They learned to work neatly, to take responsibility for their tasks, and to appreciate both their own work and that of their friends. The classroom atmosphere felt warm and joyful, reflecting the spirit of welcoming Ramadan with happy hearts.By Inka Amalia, S.Pd

Strengthening Students’ Academic Foundations: Grade 9 TKA Simulation Academic Year 2025/2026 at Al Siddiq International School

On Wednesday, 25 February 2026, grade 9 students of Al Siddiq International School took part in the Academic Competency Test (Tes Kemampuan Akademik – TKA) Simulation held in the school’s computer laboratory. The activity was attended by all Year 9 students, who participated with thorough preparation. The session ran in an orderly and smooth manner, reflecting the students’ enthusiasm and strong commitment. The TKA Simulation forms part of a diagnostic programme and initial competency assessment for students at primary and secondary levels (SD/MI, SMP/MTs, and SMA/MA/SMK) as preparation for the official TKA administered by the Kementerian Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah (Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education). This assessment is designed as a parameter to measure students’ academic abilities objectively, systematically, and comprehensively, providing a more accurate picture of their learning attainment. The computer-based simulation not only aims to familiarise students with a digital examination system, but also serves as a structured means of mapping academic competencies. Through this activity, the school obtains preliminary data that can be used as a foundation for designing targeted academic reinforcement strategies and learning support ahead of the official TKA. The TKA plays a strategic role in students’ educational journeys. TKA results may serve as one of the considerations for admission to the next level of education, including pathways such as Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Prestasi (SNBP – National Selection Based on Achievement) as well as other selection routes. At secondary level, TKA results may also be considered for entry into senior high schools or vocational schools through achievement-based pathways, in accordance with the policies of respective regional authorities. Students who sit the TKA will receive a Certificate of TKA Results (SHTKA). This certificate may be used for various educational selection purposes, making it a valuable academic document in supporting students’ continued studies. The Headteacher, Mr Amal Dzikrullah, M.Pd., stated that the implementation of this simulation represents a strategic step by the school in preparing students to face increasingly competitive academic challenges. According to him, the activity aims to: Help students understand the format and characteristics of TKA questions; Improve time management skills during examinations; Provide authentic experience in undertaking computer-based assessments; Enhance students’ readiness and build their confidence in facing future educational selections. The successful implementation of this simulation reflects the school’s readiness in terms of facilities and infrastructure, as well as the strong commitment of its educators in providing optimal guidance to students. It is hoped that through this initiative, Year 9 students will become more academically and mentally prepared for the next stage of their education. This TKA Simulation forms part of the ongoing commitment of Al Siddiq International School to deliver high-quality education that is measurable, adaptive to technological advancements, and future-oriented in nurturing a high-achieving generation. Welcoming Ramadan with Creativity: Online Activities of Al Siddiq International Kindergarten Pupils

On Wednesday and Thursday, 18 and 19 February 2026, pupils of Al Siddiq International Kindergarten carried out online learning through the school’s Learning Management System (LMS). The activities were completed from home by working on and submitting assignments in the form of videos via the LMS platform provided by the school. Although it was the holiday period leading up to the fasting month, the learning process continued in a more flexible and creative manner. Previously, on Monday, 16 February 2026, the class teacher had informed parents about the online learning plan. The announcement explained in detail the tasks the children were required to complete, along with clear instructions and submission deadlines. Parents were asked to accompany their children during the task preparation process and to assist with recording and uploading the videos to the LMS. On Wednesday, the children were assigned to create a video message welcoming the month of Ramadan. Through this activity, they learnt to deliver simple sentences confidently while understanding the significance of the arrival of the holy month. Each child recorded their greeting video in their own unique style and expression. Some appeared shy with sweet smiles, while others enthusiastically conveyed their prayers and hopes for Ramadan. On Thursday, the task continued with the creation of a Ramadan card. The children were encouraged to be creative by designing a Ramadan-themed card using materials available at home. The entire process was recorded on video, starting from preparing the tools and materials, decorating the card, to presenting the final result. After completing their craft, the children also made a simple presentation video to explain their work. This activity helped develop creativity, fine motor skills, and confidence in speaking in front of the camera. The use of the LMS with a video submission system served several important purposes. Firstly, it ensured that learning activities remained structured despite the pre-Ramadan holiday. Secondly, it nurtured independence and responsibility in completing tasks. Thirdly, it strengthened collaboration between the school and parents in supporting learning at home. Furthermore, the use of the LMS helped both children and parents become more accustomed to using technology in a positive and purposeful way. Through these activities, the atmosphere of welcoming Ramadan became more meaningful. The children were not merely on holiday; they continued to learn, create, and understand religious values in an enjoyable way. Online learning through the LMS proved to be an effective alternative for maintaining enthusiasm for learning while preparing to welcome the holy month with joyful hearts.By Inka Amalia, S. Pd

Ramadan Boarding Programme 1447H: Making Ramadan a School of Transformation and Digital Hijrah

In order to fill the blessed month of Ramadan 1447H with meaningful activities, the Junior High School organised a three-day Ramadan Boarding Programme from Wednesday to Friday, 18–20 February 2026. The programme was attended by all Year 7 to Year 9 students and was conducted online via Zoom. Although delivered virtually, the programme ran in an orderly, interactive, and spirited manner. The students participated enthusiastically in every session as a reflection of their commitment to making Ramadan a momentum for self-improvement. Day One The first day’s session was delivered by Ust. Ahmad Toha, M.Ag, under the theme:“Ramadan: A Month for Self-Upgrade, Not Merely Hunger and Thirst.” In his talk, he emphasised that fasting is not only about refraining from food and drink, but also about training patience, refining character, and improving the quality of worship. Ramadan is the best time to “level up” oneself to become more disciplined, more courteous, and closer to Allah SWT. He also encouraged students to make Ramadan a turning point for improving daily habits — from performing prayers punctually, increasing Qur’an recitation, to guarding one’s speech and behaviour in social interactions. Day Two The second day’s session was delivered by Ust. Abdul Aziz, S.Pd, with the theme:“Ramadan: A School of Transformation.” In his presentation, he explained that Ramadan is a school of life that teaches self-control, responsibility, and consistency in doing good deeds. The values learnt during Ramadan should not cease once the holy month ends, but should instead become lasting traits embedded within a Muslim student’s character. He stressed the importance of integrity, proper manners towards parents and teachers, maintaining daily acts of worship, and treating Ramadan as a training ground for all parts of the body — the eyes, tongue, ears, and heart. He also encouraged students to sustain their enthusiasm for learning and achieving excellence as part of positive transformation. Day Three On the final day, the session was delivered by Ustz. Retno Suzanne Handayani, Lc., M.Pd, under the theme:“Heart Detox, Gadget Detox: From Scroll to Sujud — Digital Hijrah in the Holy Month.” In her session, she invited students to detoxify their hearts from laziness, anger, and negligence, as well as to detox from excessive use of gadgets and social media. Ramadan is the ideal time to transform the habit of “endless scrolling” into “meaningful prostration.” She highlighted that digital hijrah does not mean abandoning technology, but rather using it wisely, productively, and in ways that carry spiritual value. This message was especially relevant to teenagers living in today’s digital era. Interactive Quiz and Appreciation As a closing activity, the committee organised an interactive quiz covering material from Day One to Day Three. The session was lively and engaging, as students competed to answer questions quickly and accurately using Zoom’s interactive features. The students who achieved the highest scores in the Ramadan Boarding Programme 1447H quiz were: Richie, Shafa, Salma, Alvaro, and Kenzie. It is hoped that this Ramadan Boarding Programme will help nurture a generation that excels not only academically, but also possesses spiritual strength, strong character, and wisdom in using technology. May this year’s Ramadan truly become a school of transformation and the beginning of a meaningful hijrah towards becoming better individuals.By :Retno Suzanne Handayani,Lc.M.Pd

Meaningful Learning from Home: Online Classes at Al Siddiq International Kindergarten

On Friday, 20 February 2026, pupils of Al Siddiq International Kindergarten took part in online learning via Google Meet. The activity was held as the day formed part of the holiday period leading up to the fasting month. Although they were not physically present at school, the children were still able to meet their class teachers and friends through the screen. The learning atmosphere remained warm and enjoyable, even though it was conducted from their respective homes. This distance learning programme aimed to ensure that the learning process continued uninterrupted, despite the approaching holiday before Ramadan. In addition, the activity served as a way to maintain the children’s enthusiasm for learning. By staying connected online, the children were able to maintain positive habits such as reciting prayers before lessons and performing murojaah (revision of Qur’anic memorisation). The online sessions also helped parents stay informed about the school’s programmes, particularly in preparation for important activities during Ramadan. At 7:45 a.m., the class teacher shared the Google Meet link with all parents through the class communication group. The children then prepared to join the lesson from their homes. Promptly at 8:15 a.m., the session began with the recitation of the opening prayer before studying. This was followed by a collective murojaah session until 8:45 a.m. Even though it was conducted virtually, the children participated enthusiastically and with great spirit. After the murojaah session concluded, the activities resumed at 9:00 a.m. via the same Google Meet link. During this session, the class teacher held a briefing for parents. The topics covered included the tasmi’ and munaqosyah programmes at the kindergarten, the schedule of activities during Ramadan, and an explanation regarding the attendance card. This briefing was important to ensure that parents clearly understood the sequence of programmes to be carried out and could provide proper support for their children at home. Through this online learning initiative, communication between the school and families remained well maintained. The children continued to receive both spiritual and academic guidance despite being on holiday. Parents were also better prepared to support the school’s programmes ahead of Ramadan. This simple activity conducted via Google Meet stands as proof that learning can continue anytime and anywhere, as long as there is strong cooperation between teachers, pupils, and parents.By Inka Amalia, S. Academic Supervision as an Effort to Strengthen Teacher Professionalism at TK Al Siddiq International

Supervision activities at TK Al Siddiq International are carried out as part of ongoing efforts to improve the quality of teaching and learning within the school. This supervision is not merely an evaluative exercise, but rather a process of guidance and professional support for teachers. Through supervision, the school seeks to ensure that the teaching and learning process runs effectively, purposefully, and in alignment with the established vision and standards. The activity takes place in each teacher’s classroom, allowing observations to be conducted directly within the authentic learning environment. In this way, the Headteacher and observers are able to see how teachers manage their classrooms, deliver learning materials, interact with the children, and create a learning atmosphere that is both enjoyable and safe for pupils. The supervision was conducted over four days, from Monday to Thursday, 9–12 February 2026. The supervision schedule had been distributed in advance by the Headteacher to all TK Al Siddiq International teachers. With a clear timetable in place, teachers were able to prepare their lessons properly without making excessive changes to their usual teaching style, as the supervision was designed to observe natural, day-to-day classroom practice. In its implementation, teachers continued to teach as usual in accordance with their prepared lesson plans. The Headteacher, together with the Head of Islamic Affairs of Al Siddiq International, acted as observers in the classroom. They observed the entire learning process, from the opening activities and main lesson to the closing session. The focus of observation included teaching strategies, the use of learning media, time management, and pupils’ responses throughout the activities. The purpose of supervision for teachers is to help enhance their professional and pedagogical competence. Through the feedback provided, teachers are able to identify their strengths to be maintained, as well as areas that require further improvement. For the Headteacher, supervision serves as a means of mapping the overall quality of teaching within the school, ensuring that standards are maintained, and planning more targeted professional development programmes for teachers. After teaching hours concluded, each teacher received an individual evaluation and feedback session. During this stage, the Headteacher and observers delivered their observations constructively and openly. Discussions were conducted in a supportive atmosphere, ensuring that teachers felt valued and motivated to continue developing their skills. Through this supervision activity, it is hoped that the quality of education at TK Al Siddiq International will continue to improve and have a positive impact on the children’s development.By Inka Amalia, S.
