Developing Academic Potential Through the Academic Club Programme at Al Siddiq International Secondary School

Bekasi, August 2026 — In its efforts to enhance academic excellence while identifying and nurturing students’ potential, Al Siddiq International Secondary School has introduced an innovative learning initiative through its Academic Club Programme. The programme represents a strategic step by the school to provide students with a dedicated space to develop their talents, interests, and academic abilities in a more focused and structured manner. The Academic Club is divided into several areas based on students’ interests and potential, namely the Science Club, Math Club, and English Club. Each club is designed as a more exploratory, interactive, and challenging learning environment, enabling students not only to benefit from classroom instruction but also to deepen their knowledge and skills in areas that genuinely interest them. The Academic Club sessions are held twice a week according to a scheduled programme. Students take part in a variety of enrichment activities, practice exercises, discussions, experiments, problem-solving tasks, and other activities tailored to the characteristics of each subject area. The Science Club aims to nurture curiosity, observation skills, experimentation, and scientific thinking. Meanwhile, the Math Club provides opportunities for students to develop logical reasoning, numeracy, problem-solving skills, and strategies for tackling mathematical challenges. The English Club focuses on strengthening English language proficiency, communication skills, vocabulary, grammar, and the ability to understand and express ideas effectively in English. The programme is not solely aimed at improving students’ academic results. More importantly, the Academic Club is expected to serve as a platform for the school to identify students’ talents and interests from an early stage, particularly in academic fields. Every student has unique potential, and through consistent guidance and support, this potential can be developed into meaningful achievement. The Academic Club is also designed as part of the school’s student development programme in preparation for various academic competitions and Olympiads. Students who demonstrate particular aptitude and interest will receive further guidance and coaching to prepare them for competitions at school, regional, national, and other relevant levels. In addition to competition preparation, the programme also forms part of the school’s efforts to prepare students for their transition to senior secondary school. Strengthening their knowledge and skills in Science, Mathematics, and English is expected to provide a stronger academic foundation, enabling students to face the learning challenges of the next stage of their education with greater confidence. Through the Academic Club, the school is committed to fostering a learning culture that focuses not only on outcomes but also on the process of developing each student’s potential. Preparation Centre: Learning About Numbers 1 and 2 Through Play-Based Activities

On Wednesday, 5 August 2026, the children of TK A Al Siddiq took part in a learning activity at the Preparation Centre, focusing on recognising the numerals 1 and 2. The activity was designed to introduce children to basic number concepts in a simple, enjoyable way that was appropriate for their stage of development. The children were not only introduced to the shapes of the numerals, but were also encouraged to understand the relationship between each numeral and the corresponding quantity of concrete objects: one and two. The activity began with the children listening to a story from the Pippa and Pop book, in line with the current theme, “My Body”. Through the story, the children were encouraged to learn and expand their simple English vocabulary. In addition to developing their listening skills, the storytelling session provided an opportunity for the children to become familiar with English vocabulary in an enjoyable learning environment. After the storytelling session, the lesson continued with an introduction to the numerals 1 and 2. The teacher showed the children the shapes of the numerals and explained how to write them using simple steps. The children then practised following the example demonstrated by the teacher at the front of the classroom. This activity aimed to help the children recognise the shapes of the numerals while also developing hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills through writing practice. Next, the children were given worksheets related to the numbers 1 and 2. They were asked to complete the activities according to the instructions provided. During the activity, the teacher worked with the children individually, providing guidance and observing their progress directly. The children were given opportunities to count concrete objects and identify the corresponding quantity, either one or two objects. Counting concrete objects is important because young children are still developing their understanding of number concepts through real-life experiences. By seeing, holding, and counting objects directly, children can understand that the numeral 1 represents one object, while the numeral 2 represents two objects. This also enabled the teacher to assess how well each child was able to connect a numeral with its corresponding quantity. Through this activity, the children were expected to recognise the numerals 1 and 2, write them with greater confidence, and count concrete objects in quantities of one and two. In addition to developing early numeracy skills, the activity also supported language development, particularly through the introduction of English vocabulary from the Pippa and Pop story. The gradual, interactive, and individualised approach allowed each child to learn according to their own ability and pace. The Preparation Centre activity that day became a meaningful learning experience for the children of TK A Al Siddiq. From listening to a story and learning English vocabulary to practising numeral writing and counting concrete objects, the children had opportunities to learn through a variety of active and enjoyable experiences. PjBL at Al Siddiq International Primary School: Learning Science Through an Interactive Paper Circuit

Science learning at Al Siddiq International Primary School is becoming increasingly engaging through the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL). One of the activities carried out is the Interactive Paper Circuit Project, a creative project that enables students to understand the basic concepts of electricity through direct, hands-on learning experiences. In this activity, students create simple electrical circuits using paper, batteries, and LED lights. They learn how electricity flows through a circuit while also developing their creativity by designing and decorating their projects. Through the learning-by-doing approach, students not only gain an understanding of scientific concepts but also learn to identify problems, explore different solutions, and work collaboratively to complete their projects. This PjBL activity also develops a range of essential skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, communication, and collaboration. Every attempt, including discovering and correcting mistakes, becomes a valuable part of the students’ learning experience. Through project-based learning, curiosity develops into discovery, while creative ideas are transformed into tangible and meaningful creations. Project-Based Learning at Al Siddiq International School: Turning Used Items into Creative Ideas and Sustainable Solutions

Bekasi, 7 August 2026 — Project-Based Learning (PjBL) once again provided an opportunity for students at SMP Al Siddiq International School to develop their creativity, critical-thinking skills, and environmental awareness. This time, the students explored the theme “Making Use of Used Items” through a variety of experiments and creative group projects. For this activity, the students were divided into 10 groups. Each group was given the opportunity to develop its own ideas based on environmental issues identified in their surroundings. The learning process did not stop at creating the projects. The students also documented their experiments in the form of videos, which then became part of their presentations and the publication of their learning outcomes. The students successfully developed a wide range of interesting topics. Some groups focused on waste management issues that have yet to be properly addressed, while others explored ways of recycling used items into useful products. Another group developed an Eco Brick Project, which involved using plastic waste to create reusable materials. The projects did not focus solely on waste management. Several groups explored broader themes, such as “Minimal Waste Lifestyle”, which encourages people to adopt a lifestyle that minimises the amount of waste produced in everyday life. Meanwhile, the theme “A Life of Purity and Faith” connected cleanliness and environmental awareness with values rooted in faith. The PjBL process provided the students with a different kind of learning experience. Rather than simply receiving information theoretically, they were challenged to identify problems, gather information, discuss ideas, conduct experiments, find solutions, and communicate their findings through digital media. This activity demonstrated that project-based learning can provide a valuable space for students to develop critical thinking and creativity. From items that were previously considered useless, the students were able to discover various possibilities and transform them into meaningful ideas, creative works, and practical solutions. In addition to creativity and critical thinking, the activity also developed collaboration, communication, problem-solving, responsibility, and technological skills. Producing videos of their experiments was one way in which the students learnt how to present an idea in a clear and engaging manner. They then presented their projects and creative ideas in front of fellow students and teachers as a form of appreciation for the work produced by the students of SMP Al Siddiq International School. Through this PjBL activity, the students are expected not only to become a generation capable of using technology, but also a generation that is sensitive to environmental issues, confident in seeking solutions, and capable of creating innovations from simple things. Ultimately, this project conveyed an important message: used items are not merely rubbish. With creativity, knowledge, and care, something simple can be transformed into a valuable creation. Fostering Discipline and Patriotism Through the Flag Ceremony

On Monday, 27 July 2026, Al Siddiq International Kindergarten held its regular flag ceremony, attended by all kindergarten pupils on the school field. This routine activity aims to instil character values, discipline, responsibility, and a love for the nation from an early age. Through the ceremony, pupils are encouraged to respect national symbols while developing the habit of following shared rules and procedures. Before the ceremony began, all pupils gathered on the school field and lined up neatly according to their classes. The teachers assisted in organising the lines, ensuring that every child could participate in an orderly manner. The cheerful and energetic atmosphere of the morning provided a positive start to the children’s day of learning. During the ceremony, several pupils were given the opportunity to serve as ceremony officials, including the ceremony leader and the reader of the Pancasila text. These roles provided valuable opportunities for the children to develop courage, self-confidence, public speaking skills, and a sense of responsibility in carrying out their assigned duties. Meanwhile, the teachers guided the proceedings and served as ceremony supervisors, ensuring that every stage of the event was conducted in an orderly and respectful manner. The flag ceremony is not only an opportunity for pupils to learn the proper procedures of a national ceremony, but also an effective way to cultivate positive habits. The children learn to arrive on time, follow instructions carefully, maintain appropriate behaviour throughout the ceremony, and show respect to both their teachers and classmates. These values form an essential foundation for the development of strong character that will benefit them in the years ahead. Developing Talents and PotentialExtracurricular Activities Resume at Al Siddiq International Primary School

On Friday afternoon, 31 July, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (WIB), Al Siddiq International Primary School was once again filled with enthusiasm and excitement as extracurricular activities officially resumed for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. After selecting activities based on their individual interests and talents, pupils eagerly took part in a wide range of programmes designed to help them develop their potential beyond the classroom. Extracurricular activities form an essential part of the educational experience at Al Siddiq International Primary School. Through enjoyable and educational programmes, pupils not only enhance their skills but are also encouraged to develop important character traits such as discipline, responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, and self-confidence. For the 2026/2027 Academic Year, the school continues to offer a diverse selection of extracurricular activities, including futsal, swimming, creative dance, drawing, karate, Saman dance, and pencak silat. In addition, two new programmes have been introduced to provide even greater opportunities for pupils: archery and hadroh. The introduction of archery is expected to help pupils develop focus, patience, and precision. Meanwhile, the hadroh programme provides an opportunity for pupils to appreciate Islamic musical arts while building their confidence in expressing Islamic values through the recitation of shalawat. Raina Syahirah Syahla, a talented young athlete, has brought great pride to the school by earning remarkable results in two prestigious national taekwondo championships held in East Jakarta. Her first achievement came at the Student Taekwondo Indonesian Championship (STIC) 2024, which took place on 14–15 December 2024 at GOR Ciracas, East Jakarta. In this highly competitive event, Raina secured Second Place in the Cadet Girls’ Kyorugi category after demonstrating exceptional technical ability, resilience, and determination throughout the competition. Raina continued her impressive success at the Mudjiman Taekwondo Competition 2025, held on 15 February 2025 at the GOR Youth Centre Otista, East Jakarta, Indonesia. Once again, she earned Second Place in the Cadet Girls’ Kyorugi category, highlighting her consistency and tremendous potential as a promising young taekwondo athlete. Initial Health Screening for Al Siddiq International Kindergarten Pupils in Collaboration with Jatimakmur Community Health Centre

On Monday, 27 July 2026, Al Siddiq International Kindergarten, in collaboration with the Jatimakmur Community Health Centre (Puskesmas Jatimakmur), conducted an initial health screening programme for all kindergarten pupils. The activity took place in the classrooms and dining area as part of the school’s commitment to monitoring children’s health from an early age. The screening aimed to assess the pupils’ basic health conditions while supporting their growth and development, ensuring they remain healthy and ready to participate fully in their learning at school. The programme began with an introductory session led by nurses from the Jatimakmur Community Health Centre in the classroom. During the session, the nurses introduced themselves, explained the purpose of their visit, and provided a simple overview of the health checks that would be carried out. The information was presented in a child-friendly manner, helping the pupils feel calm, comfortable, and well prepared for the screening. Following the introduction, the health examinations were conducted individually in the kindergarten dining area. Pupils were called from their classrooms one at a time to undergo the assessments. The screening covered several aspects of children’s health and development, including dental and oral health, nail hygiene, colour recognition through a colour vision test, correct pencil grip, and other basic assessments related to children’s health and developmental readiness. Throughout the process, teachers accompanied the pupils, helping them feel more confident and at ease. The health screening plays an important role in identifying potential health concerns at an early stage. Through the dental examination and nail hygiene check, healthcare professionals were able to educate the children about the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene. Meanwhile, the pencil grip assessment and colour vision test provided valuable insights into the development of fine motor skills and visual function. It is hoped that the results of these examinations will serve as a useful reference for parents, the school, and healthcare professionals in planning any necessary follow-up support. The programme was carried out smoothly, with all pupils participating enthusiastically. At the conclusion of the activity, the nurses from the Jatimakmur Community Health Centre expressed their appreciation to the school, the teachers, and all the pupils for their excellent cooperation throughout the screening process. Learning Science Through ExperimentationGrade 3 Students Observe the Growth of Mung Bean Plants

Science learning becomes far more meaningful when pupils are able to see, touch, and experience the concepts they study firsthand. This was precisely the experience of the Grade 3 pupils at Al Siddiq International Primary School as they took part in a simple science experiment for the topic “Plants are Living Things”. During this activity, the pupils planted mung bean seeds to observe the process of plant growth. With great enthusiasm, they prepared the planting medium, sowed the seeds, and learnt how to care for them so that they could grow healthily. Throughout the experiment, the pupils observed the changes in the mung bean seeds day by day. They discovered that plants are living things because they grow, require water and air to survive, and respond to the environment around them. This practical activity not only enabled the pupils to understand scientific concepts in a more concrete and meaningful way, but also developed their observation skills, critical thinking, and natural curiosity about the world around them. Hands-on learning experiences such as this make science enjoyable while reinforcing the concepts taught in the classroom. Parent–Teacher Conference: Strengthening the Partnership Between School and Parents for Children’s Growth and Development

As an important first step in fostering a strong partnership between the school and families, Al Siddiq International Kindergarten held its Parent–Teacher Conference (PTC) on Friday, 24 July 2026. The event took place in the Al Siddiq International Kindergarten classrooms and was attended by the parents and guardians of Kindergarten A and Kindergarten B pupils. The conference served as a valuable opportunity to align the school’s vision with that of parents and to strengthen communication in supporting children’s learning and development throughout the upcoming academic year. The programme commenced at 8:10 a.m. (WIB) and was hosted in a warm and welcoming atmosphere by Mr Faruqi, who served as the Master of Ceremonies. The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Ust. Ghoyyats, creating a solemn and blessed atmosphere. This was followed by a welcome address from the Director of Al Siddiq International, Mr Ginanjar Citra Cimarga, M.Pd., who emphasised the importance of strong collaboration between the school and parents in nurturing a generation of children with excellent character, independence, and a lifelong enthusiasm for learning. The conference then continued with the main presentation delivered by the Head of Al Siddiq International Kindergarten, Mrs Itoh Sugiharti, S.E., S.Pd., who outlined the academic programmes planned for the coming academic year. Parents were introduced to the curriculum, teaching and learning activities, character development programmes, and the various educational experiences that their children would participate in throughout the year. The clear and well-structured presentation enabled parents to gain a thorough understanding of each programme’s objectives, allowing them to provide consistent support for their children at home. The next session focused on the school’s Al-Qur’an Programme, presented by Ust. Mudzakky. During his presentation, he explained the programme’s learning targets, teaching methods, and the vital role of parents in supporting their children’s Qur’anic learning at home. Through effective collaboration between teachers and families, it is hoped that children’s ability to read, memorise, and develop a love for the Holy Qur’an will flourish from an early age. Holding the Parent–Teacher Conference at the beginning of the semester aims to establish open communication between the school and parents, provide a comprehensive overview of the school’s educational direction, and align expectations in supporting each child’s learning journey. Through this meeting, parents gained a clearer understanding of both the academic curriculum and the school’s Islamic programmes, enabling them to play an active role in supporting their children’s development both at school and at home. The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which parents took the opportunity to ask questions, share suggestions, and engage in direct discussions with the school regarding the programmes that had been presented. The event, which took place on Saturday, 25 July 2026, was attended enthusiastically by parents and guardians. Held in Classrooms 1C and 1D, the conference ran from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (WIB). The Parent–Teacher Conference served as an important opportunity to present the school’s learning programmes and key activities for Semester 1 of the 2026–2027 Academic Year, enabling parents to gain a clear understanding of the educational experience their children will undertake throughout the term. During the conference, the school introduced several key aspects of its educational programme, including the Academic Calendar, the various programmes and activities of Al Siddiq International Primary School, the Bilingual Programme, the Student Development Programme, and the Al-Qur’an Programme, one of the school’s flagship initiatives aimed at nurturing students’ Islamic character and values. Parents also had the opportunity to watch demonstrations of the Robotics and Design extracurricular activities, providing valuable insight into how these programmes foster creativity, critical thinking, and technological skills among students beyond the classroom.
