As part of a hands-on learning activity to explore different careers, Al Siddiq International Primary School held an event titled “Career Class: I’m a Pilot” on Thursday, 25 January 2024, at the Al Siddiq International School campus. The event, attended by all primary students, featured a special guest — Captain Gilang Danar Antias, an active pilot and parent of both Kindergarten and Primary students at Al Siddiq.
During the session, Captain Gilang shared many fascinating stories from his experiences flying aircraft. He showed photos of his activities in the cockpit and played videos of plane take-offs and landings. He also introduced the different types of aircraft, explaining that flying each one requires a specific set of specialised skills.
In the question-and-answer session, Captain Gilang rewarded students who bravely asked questions with personalised name stickers as a token of appreciation. At the end of the event, the children were excited to take photos with Captain Gilang and felt delighted to have learned so much about the pilot profession — a dream job for many of them. [Ed.]
