Three Al Siddiq International Primary School Students Reach the Finals of the Storytelling Competition

Al Siddiq International Primary School has once again achieved a proud accomplishment. Three students from Years 4 and 5 successfully advanced to the final round of the 2024 Storytelling Competition in Indonesian Language for primary school level (SD/MI or equivalent) across Bekasi City, surpassing 165 other participants.

The Storytelling Competition in Indonesian Language 2024 was organised by the Bekasi City Department of Archives and Regional Library as part of its effort to promote a reading culture among the people of Bekasi. This competition was integrated into the students’ learning process, aiming to foster literacy and a love of reading from an early age. Beyond being a competition, it also serves as a form of appreciation and motivation for young learners in Bekasi’s primary schools, both public and private, particularly for pupils in Years 4 to 6.

The three Al-Siddiq International Primary School finalists were Ayanara Madiinah Adzani, Queensya Nahda Permana, and Fathimah Tsabitah. Although they did not win the top prizes, their success in reaching the final round—beating 165 other participants—was an outstanding achievement for Al-Siddiq International Primary School, especially considering that the school is not yet two years old. Their achievement has truly brought pride to the school community.

The storytelling coaches, Ms. Dara and Ms. Amel, both teachers at Al-Siddiq International Primary School, expressed their pride and joy in the students’ success. They stated:

“This is the best result we could hope for. Alhamdulillah, we have done our best, although we admit that the preparation of the props was not optimal due to limited time. However, this experience has given us valuable lessons to improve for future competitions.”

This remarkable achievement serves as an inspiration for other Al Siddiq International Primary School students to continue striving for excellence and developing their potential. Hopefully, in future competitions, Al-Siddiq students will achieve even greater success, marking the beginning of many more outstanding accomplishments in the years to come.
