Mid-Semester Summative Assessment at Al Siddiq Primary School

In accordance with the academic calendar of Al Siddiq International Primary School, the Mid-Semester Summative Assessment (STS) was conducted from 9–13 September 2024. The purpose of this assessment is to measure students’ learning achievements, evaluate their conceptual understanding and comprehension, and encourage them to take action in achieving the targeted competencies for the first half of the semester.

The activity was participated in by all students from Years 1, 2, 4, and 5, using both Paper-Based Tests and Practical Assessments to help pupils develop literacy and critical thinking skills. The STS is expected to bring valuable benefits for both teachers and students. The results will serve as feedback for teachers to improve and evaluate their teaching strategies, while for students, it functions as a means of increasing learning motivation and self-evaluation regarding their study habits.

One Year 1 student shared their experience, saying, “It was my first time joining the STS, I was really nervous, but I managed to do it!”

Ms. Reni Oktavia, S.Si, M.Pd., the Head of Al Siddiq International Primary School, expressed her satisfaction with the smooth implementation of the STS.

“All students completed their tests honestly, orderly, and on time. Any technical issues, such as shortages of question or answer sheets, were handled efficiently by the committee,” she stated.

The school also emphasises the crucial role of parents in supporting their children’s learning process. By creating a positive and nurturing home environment, children will feel more comfortable and motivated to learn. [Red]
