Telling the Story of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): Nurturing Love from an Early Age

On Monday, 24 August 2026, the pupils of Al Siddiq International Kindergarten took part in a Maulid Nabi Storytelling activity held at the Al-Qur’an Centre. The activity provided an opportunity for the children to become more familiar with the life and character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through stories presented in a simple, engaging, and age-appropriate manner. In a joyful learning atmosphere, the children were introduced to stories from the life of the Prophet whilst being encouraged to develop a sense of love and admiration for him. The activity began at 8:00 a.m. when the children arrived at school. Before taking part in the main activity, they followed their usual daily routines, beginning with the Duha prayer, followed by snack time. These routines helped the children prepare themselves both physically and mentally for the day’s learning activities. Afterwards, they gathered at the Al-Qur’an Centre to participate in the Maulid Nabi storytelling session. During the main activity, the children watched and listened to a story about the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Through an engaging and easy-to-understand storytelling approach, they were introduced to the story of the Prophet’s birth as well as the names of several members of his family. The storytelling became an enjoyable learning experience as the children were not simply asked to listen, but were encouraged to become familiar with the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in a way that was closely connected to their world and level of understanding. After listening to the story, the activity continued with a question-and-answer session with Ustadz Dzakky. The children were given opportunities to answer questions and share what they remembered from the story. This session encouraged them to speak confidently, express their understanding, and learn to listen respectfully when others were speaking. The interaction also made the storytelling session more active and engaging, allowing the children to participate directly in the learning process. The Maulid Nabi Storytelling activity aimed to introduce Islamic values and the exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from an early age. Through stories about the Prophet, the children were gradually introduced to a role model whose character and behaviour they could emulate. The activity also served as a means of nurturing love for the Prophet while building positive character traits, including kindness, respect for others, attentive listening, and behaviour guided by Islamic values. In addition to stimulating the children’s religious and moral development, the activity supported their language, cognitive, social, and emotional development. As they listened to the story, the children learnt to understand information and recall important parts of the narrative. During the question-and-answer session, they had opportunities to expand their vocabulary, express their thoughts, and build confidence in communication. They also learnt to participate in group activities and respect their friends when they were speaking. As a closing activity, the children were invited to colour a piece of calligraphy featuring the name “Muhammad”. This activity allowed them to express their creativity whilst reinforcing the subject matter introduced earlier. Colouring also provided valuable stimulation for their fine motor skills through holding and controlling writing and colouring tools, while developing concentration and hand-eye coordination. Through the Maulid Nabi Storytelling activity, the children of Al Siddiq International gained not only knowledge about the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), but also a meaningful learning experience that combined religious values, storytelling, interaction, and creativity. By introducing the story of the Prophet from an early age through enjoyable and engaging activities, the school hopes to nurture a lasting love for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and encourage children to apply his exemplary values in their everyday lives.By Inka Amalia, S.Pd

Celebrating the Birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): Al Siddiq International Primary School Holds a Variety of Islamic Competitions

Al Siddiq International Primary School once again held a lively celebration commemorating the Maulid of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This year’s celebration was not only an opportunity to remember the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), but was also enriched with a variety of educational and inspiring activities that actively involved the students. One of the highlights of the Maulid celebration was a series of Islamic competitions. These activities were designed to provide students with enjoyable learning experiences while nurturing their love for the Holy Qur’an, worship, and the noble values taught by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Through these competitions, students were given the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, courage, creativity, and understanding of various aspects of Islamic teachings. The participants took part enthusiastically in competitions covering the Qur’an, worship, Adhan, Islamic knowledge, and creative activities. Strengthening Love for the Holy Qur’an One of the main focuses of this year’s Maulid activities was to strengthen students’ love and connection with the Holy Qur’an. This was encouraged through the Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) and Musabaqah Hifzhil Qur’an (MHQ) competitions. The MTQ & MHQ Akhwat competitions were held in Classroom 1C, whilst the MTQ & MHQ Ikhwan categories took place in Classroom 1D. The participants demonstrated their best abilities in reciting and memorising verses from the Holy Qur’an. These activities were not merely competitions, but also provided an opportunity to appreciate students who have made consistent efforts to maintain their connection with the Qur’an. Through MTQ and MHQ, students were encouraged to continue improving their Qur’anic recitation and gradually increasing their memorisation. In addition to MTQ and MHQ, the Nuroniyyah Akhwat & Ikhwan Competition was held in Classroom 2B. This competition formed part of the school’s efforts to strengthen students’ foundational Qur’anic reading skills and establish a strong foundation for Qur’anic learning from an early age. Learning and Practising Worship The Maulid celebration also provided an opportunity for students to strengthen their understanding and practice of Islamic worship in their daily lives. This was demonstrated through the Adhan Competition for Ikhwan, held in Classroom 1A. The participants demonstrated their ability to deliver the Adhan with appropriate vocal delivery, pronunciation, and posture. In addition to the Adhan competition, students’ ability to perform worship correctly was assessed through the Congregational Prayer Competition. The Ikhwan participants took part on the first floor of the mosque, whilst the Akhwat participants competed on the second floor. Through this activity, students not only learnt the correct procedures for performing prayer but also developed an understanding of the importance of discipline, order, devotion, and togetherness in worship. There were also Wudhu Competitions, with the Ikhwan category held at the first-floor ablution area and the Akhwat category at the second-floor ablution area. Participants demonstrated their ability to perform wudhu correctly and in the proper order. Practical activities such as these help students understand that Islamic teachings should not only be studied theoretically in the classroom but also practised consistently in everyday life. Developing Courage and Creativity The Maulid celebration at Al Siddiq International Primary School was not limited to competitions directly related to worship. The school also provided opportunities for students to develop their communication skills, creativity, and thinking abilities through a variety of activities. One of these was the Poetry Competition for Akhwat, held in the school library. Through this competition, students were encouraged to express their feelings, ideas, and love for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through creative performances and poetry. Students’ thinking skills and Islamic knowledge were also developed through the Quiz Competition, held in Classrooms 3C and 3D. Participants were challenged to answer a range of questions quickly and accurately. In addition to expanding their knowledge, the activity developed concentration, confidence, teamwork, and decision-making skills. For Years 3, 4, and 6, a Crossword Puzzle Competition was held in Classroom 1B. The activity was presented in a fun and engaging way, allowing students to learn and play whilst developing their thinking skills and knowledge. Meanwhile, Years 1 and 2 students had the opportunity to express their creativity through a Colouring Competition held in Classroom 2A. With great imagination and enthusiasm, the participants expressed their creativity through colours and artwork. More Than Just a Competition The wide range of competitions organised as part of the Maulid celebration had a broader purpose than simply determining winners. Each activity was designed as part of the school’s character education programme. Students learnt to be courageous, confident, disciplined, cooperative, respectful towards their peers, gracious in accepting results, and committed to good sportsmanship. For students who achieved winning positions, the awards served as recognition of their efforts and abilities. However, for every participant, having the courage to take part and perform in front of others was itself an achievement worthy of appreciation. These values are closely aligned with the teachings and exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Maulid celebration is intended to go beyond a ceremonial occasion and become a meaningful opportunity to instil noble character and the exemplary values of the Prophet into students’ daily lives. The event also reflects Al Siddiq International Primary School’s commitment to developing an educational environment that does not focus solely on academic achievement, but also places strong emphasis on character development and Islamic values. Through activities such as these, the school hopes that its students will grow into a generation that loves the Holy Qur’an, is devoted to worship, has the confidence to develop their potential, and demonstrates noble character inspired by the example of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).By Muslihatul Maula, Lc

The event was attended by the kindergarten students, who wore a variety of traditional Indonesian costumes and heroes-themed outfits. Dressed in colourful and diverse attire, the children enthusiastically participated in the series of activities commemorating Indonesia’s Independence Day. The activity began at 8.00 a.m. WIB, when the kindergarten students arrived at school. After gathering and preparing themselves, all students took part in an Independence Day ceremony held on the Al Siddiq International school field. Through this experience, children can learn about their national identity, develop an appreciation for Indonesian culture, and nurture a sense of nationalism in a fun and age-appropriate way. In addition, the parade provided opportunities for children to develop their social and emotional skills. Walking alongside their friends, following teachers’ instructions, maintaining order, and interacting with students from other educational levels can help develop independence, discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence. Art Class: Creating Together to Celebrate Indonesian Independence Day

On Friday, 14 August 2026, the children of TK Al Siddiq took part in an art class as part of the celebrations for Indonesian Independence Day. The activity was held in the assembly room in a lively and joyful atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and togetherness. The children were invited to create Independence-themed hanging decorations, which would later become part of the decorations while also serving as their own creative work to welcome the Independence Day celebrations. The activity was not only intended to produce attractive artwork, but also provided an opportunity for the children to experience and become familiar with the atmosphere of Independence Day from an early age. Through creative activities with an Indonesian theme, the children were introduced to the spirit of togetherness, a sense of pride in their country, and positive values such as cooperation, mutual assistance, and respect for one another. To make the activity even more engaging, the children were divided into five groups in each class. The groups consisted of a mixture of TK A and TK B children, allowing them to play and participate in activities together. After the groups had been formed, all the children were guided to the assembly room and directed to sit at the tables assigned to their respective groups. Before beginning their artwork, the teachers introduced the activity and explained important safety instructions, including how to use scissors safely. The teachers explained the design of the hanging decoration, the materials required, and the steps involved in making it using language that was easy for the children to understand. Once the children had understood the instructions, each teacher accompanied one group table to provide guidance and support throughout the creative process. The children then began making their hanging decorations according to the teachers’ guidance. Each child was given the opportunity to participate directly in creating the artwork, from selecting and using the materials to completing their own decoration. The activity helped develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, creativity, and the ability to follow instructions. Furthermore, as the groups consisted of both TK A and TK B children, they also learnt how to interact and work together with friends of different ages. The atmosphere became even more lively as the children helped one another and proudly showed their finished creations. The teachers provided support whenever needed without limiting the children’s creativity. In this way, each child was able to express themselves while also learning how to complete a task as part of a group. Once all the artwork had been completed, the activity concluded with a group photograph for documentation. The children enthusiastically posed for the photo while proudly displaying the Independence-themed decorations they had created. This moment became a memorable and enjoyable part of their experience in welcoming Indonesian Independence Day. Through this Independence-themed hanging-decoration activity, the children of TK Al Siddiq not only created artwork, but also gained valuable learning experiences in togetherness, cooperation, creativity, independence, and love for Indonesia. This simple yet meaningful activity provided an enjoyable way to introduce the spirit of independence to young children through direct experiences and activities that are relevant to their world.By Inka Amalia, S.Pd

Parent Gathering : Educating Children Following the Example of the Prophet Muhammad SAW

Bekasi, 30 July 2026 — Al Siddiq International School once again organised a study session for parents as part of the school’s commitment to strengthening the partnership between education at school and education at home. The session was held on Thursday, 30 July 2026, at Al Siddiq Mosque and was attended by parents with great enthusiasm. The session explored the theme “Educating Children Following the Example of the Prophet Muhammad SAW”, based on the work of Shaykh Jamal Abdur Rahman. The topic was delivered by Ustadz Abdullah Haris, Lc., M.Pd., who encouraged parents to understand that educating children is a long-term process requiring knowledge, patience, good example, and an approach that is appropriate to each stage of a child’s development. During the session, Ustadz Abdullah Haris explained that children cannot be educated using exactly the same approach at every age. Each stage of development has its own needs, characteristics, and educational approaches. Therefore, parents need to understand the different stages of their children’s development so that they can provide appropriate guidance in matters of faith, worship, character, and everyday life. One of the key messages highlighted during the session was that parents’ example is a fundamental part of educating children. Children learn not only through advice and instructions, but also through what they see and experience in their parents’ behaviour. The way parents worship, communicate, resolve problems, respect others, and fulfil their responsibilities can become an example that children naturally observe and imitate. The session also reminded parents that educating children is a responsibility and a trust that requires sincere commitment. Parents are not only responsible for fulfilling their children’s physical and academic needs, but also play an important role in shaping their character, manners, and values, which will serve as a foundation for their future. Through a discussion of the stages of child education based on the example of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, parents were encouraged to develop closer communication with their children, understand their needs according to their age, and provide guidance with compassion and wisdom. The study session also provided an opportunity for parents to reflect on the educational approaches they have applied at home. Strong collaboration between parents and the school is essential so that the values instilled in children can be implemented consistently and mutually reinforced. For Al Siddiq International School, the parent study session was not merely a religious programme, but also part of the school’s efforts to build a strong parenting partnership between the school and families. Good education requires the involvement of various parties, particularly when the school and parents share the same vision for supporting children’s growth and development. Through this session, it is hoped that parents gained additional knowledge and insight to strengthen their role as their children’s primary educators at home. More importantly, may the knowledge gained be put into practice in everyday life, creating a family environment that nurtures children who are faithful, well-mannered, independent, and strong in character. With the spirit of “Growing Together, Educating with Faith, Inspiring the Future,” Al Siddiq International School continues to strengthen collaboration between the school and families in delivering an education that focuses not only on academic achievement, but also on character development and life values rooted in Islamic teachings.By Arief Firmansyah, S.Kom

Honouring the Meaning of Independence: Independence Day Ceremony at SMP Al-Siddiq International

SMP Al-Siddiq International organised a series of activities to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on 17 August 2026. The celebrations were both solemn and lively, involving the entire school community in an atmosphere of togetherness and national pride. The series of activities began with an Independence Day ceremony held on the SMP Al-Siddiq International school field. The ceremony was led by the school’s Paskibra (Flag-Raising Team), who had undergone prior training and preparation. With discipline and a strong sense of responsibility, the Paskibra members carried out the flag-raising ceremony in an orderly and solemn manner. Serving as the ceremony leader and delivering the address was Muhammad Fathul Ihsan, M.Res., Deputy Head of SMP Al-Siddiq International for Curriculum Affairs. In his address, he encouraged all participants not merely to commemorate independence as a ceremony, but also to understand the values of struggle and sacrifice behind it. He recounted how the nation’s heroes fought for independence despite facing severe limitations. Amid battles filled with the sounds of bullets and gunfire, the freedom fighters courageously confronted the colonisers with simple weapons, including spears and sharpened bamboo. Their struggle demonstrated that independence was achieved through sacrifice, courage, unity, and a long and determined struggle. By the grace of Allah SWT, the struggle of the nation’s heroes ultimately led Indonesia to independence. Therefore, independence is both a blessing and a trust that must be appreciated, protected, and upheld by future generations. Indonesia’s long journey in defending its independence has never been an easy one. Preserving the true meaning of independence remains a challenge for today’s generation. If the struggle in the past was carried out through armed resistance against colonialism, today’s struggle can be expressed through education, achievement, unity, and positive contributions to the nation. In his address, the ceremony leader also emphasised that true independence does not simply mean freedom from colonial rule. It also encompasses the freedom to think, the freedom to grow and develop, and the freedom to contribute to the life of the nation and state, while continuing to uphold moral values, responsibility, and concern for others. Independence Parade and Film Screening After the ceremony, the celebrations continued with an Independence Parade. All participants enthusiastically took part in the parade around the area surrounding SMP Al-Siddiq International. The activity provided an opportunity to foster a spirit of togetherness while creating a lively and enjoyable Independence Day atmosphere for the students. With the spirit of the red and white, the participants took part in the parade in an orderly manner, carrying with them the spirit of independence and a sense of pride as the next generation of the nation. The activity also served as a means of strengthening bonds between students, teachers, and the wider school community. The celebrations continued with a communal screening of a film about independence. Through this activity, students were invited to revisit the stories of the nation’s heroes and deepen their understanding of the values of courage, sacrifice, unity, and love for the homeland. The film screening was also designed as a learning experience that connected more closely with the students’ world. The history and struggle for independence were not only explored through textbooks, but also presented through a visual experience intended to foster empathy and appreciation for the sacrifices and contributions of the nation’s heroes. The series of Independence Day celebrations at SMP Al-Siddiq International brought together the solemnity of the ceremony, the spirit of togetherness during the parade, and meaningful learning through the communal film screening. All of these activities were intended to nurture a strong sense of nationalism while reminding the younger generation that the independence they enjoy today is the result of a long and courageous struggle that must continue to be protected and honoured. Independence is not merely a legacy of history, but a trust that must be filled with knowledge, achievement, good character, and meaningful contributions to the nation.
