Bekasi — SMP Al-Siddiq International’s commitment to developing bilingual education and a global outlook has once again resulted in an outstanding achievement. Three students earned recognition at the International Kangaroo Linguistic Contest (IKLC) 2026, organised by ABAK Academy on 12 September 2026.
In the competition, Kirana Syadni Janeira Andika and Muhammad Alvaro Syawal Siregar won Bronze Medals, while Muhammad Luthfian Rasyid received an Honorable Mention. These achievements are a source of pride for the school and reflect the students’ ability to meet academic challenges in English.
The International Kangaroo Linguistic Contest is a competition designed to develop English language proficiency through comprehension, reasoning, and the application of language in various contexts. The competition was conducted online, with students participating from their respective schools, while BINUS was identified as the designated competition venue. Participants tackled multiple-choice questions and other tasks designed to assess accuracy, language comprehension, and logical thinking.
The competition also highlights the importance of developing the four core English language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. These skills form the foundation of international communication, enabling students to understand information, express ideas, and interact with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
As a school that embraces bilingual education and an international outlook, SMP Al-Siddiq International views English not merely as a school subject, but as an essential competency to be developed and applied in everyday life. Proficiency in an international language opens access to knowledge, technology, and opportunities for cross-border collaboration and communication.
Participation in IKLC 2026 is part of the school’s efforts to broaden students’ learning experiences beyond the classroom. Through academic competitions, students not only assess their language abilities but also develop independence, self-confidence, perseverance, and competitiveness. Such experiences are valuable in preparing a generation that can adapt to the evolving demands of a globalised world.
This achievement further strengthens SMP Al-Siddiq International’s commitment to providing an education that integrates academic excellence, language proficiency, and the development of Islamic character. The school strives to nurture a Qur’anic generation with broad horizons, strong international communication skills, and the readiness to face future challenges without losing sight of moral values and Islamic identity.
Congratulations to Kirana Syadni Janeira Andika, Muhammad Alvaro Syawal Siregar, and Muhammad Luthfian Rasyid on their achievements! May their success inspire all SMP Al-Siddiq International students to continue developing their potential, improving their English proficiency, and confidently demonstrating their abilities in a wide range of national and international academic competitions.
