Al Siddiq Student Wins 1st Place in Coding Competition

An outstanding achievement has been made by one of Al-Siddiq International’s talented students, Omar Sani Nasri, a Year 4 pupil, who successfully secured first place in the Alhazen Hackathon 3.0 Coding Competition. The event took place at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City Hall 10, Jl. BSD Grand Boulevard No.1, Pagedangan, Tangerang Regency, Banten, from 31 August to 1 September 2024.

Alhazen Hackathon 3.0 is a coding competition for children ranging from kindergarten and primary school to university level, organised by Alhazen Academy as part of the Muslim Life Fest (MLF) event. The competition aims to welcome the Society 5.0 era, in which critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills are increasingly vital. It also provides young participants with valuable experience in becoming a generation ready to compete in the rapidly advancing world of technology.

Omar took part in the Kids Category, which was open to participants aged 5–11 (kindergarten to primary school level). The platform used was Scratch, where participants were challenged to create a game or animation using block-based coding within a set time limit.

Omar’s success is not only a personal triumph but also a great source of pride for Al Siddiq International Primary School and the entire Al Siddiq International School community. The support from his family, the headteacher, teachers, and peers played a significant role in his success in this competition.

Omar’s coding coach, Ms Nabillah, one of the teachers at Al Siddiq International Primary School, expressed her appreciation for Omar’s accomplishment.

“This is the first trophy ever won by Al Siddiq International Primary School. It’s a truly memorable achievement and a great motivation for other students to pursue excellence,” she said.

She also expressed her gratitude to Omar for his dedication and to his supportive parents.

“Omar never gives up. During practice, he often encountered errors in his project, but I kept reminding him to be more careful and precise. On the competition day, he finished early and proudly told me, ‘Ms, I don’t have any errors, Ms!’”

Alhamdulillah, through perseverance and determination, Omar won 1st place in the Alhazen Hackathon 3.0 Coding Competition.

This remarkable achievement serves as an inspiration for other students to continue striving for excellence and developing their potential. May Omar Sani Nasri’s success in the Alhazen Hackathon 3.0 be the beginning of many more great accomplishments for Al Siddiq students in the future. [Red]
