The online learning programme at SMP Al Siddiq International School on Friday, 15 May 2026 was carried out with great enthusiasm and active participation from all students. The activity began with a collective dhikr session coordinated by Ustadz Ahmad Toha as part of the school’s spiritual routine before starting lessons. A solemn and orderly atmosphere was evident from the very beginning, even though the programme was conducted virtually through Zoom Meeting. Following the dhikr session, the programme was hosted by Ustazah Retno Suzanne Handayani, who led the activities warmly, communicatively, and with great motivation.
The programme then continued with tausiah and student presentation sessions delivered by Zaidan, Emran, Flavia, Chila, Irsyad, and Alfatara. Various engaging topics were presented with confidence and thorough preparation. Irsyad delivered a tausiah on the meaning of Eid al-Adha, highlighting the values of sincerity, sacrifice, and care for others. Meanwhile, Emran discussed the importance of character development in the lives of young people as a foundation for facing modern challenges. Flavia and Chila also presented material on the importance of language skills in building global communication and broadening perspectives in the modern era.
In addition to developing students’ confidence in speaking, the programme also served as a platform for nurturing leadership mentality among students. Through presentations, tausiah, and a bilingual session presented by Safa, students were trained to appear confidently in public, deliver ideas in a structured manner, and improve their public speaking abilities from an early age. The programme concluded with a collective prayer led by Kenzie, ensuring that the entire series of activities was conducted in an orderly, educational, and character-building Islamic atmosphere.
The school stated that this programme forms part of character education and the development of students’ hard skills, which are highly needed by Generation Z in the midst of global challenges and increasingly competitive future demands. Communication skills, leadership, critical thinking, and the confidence to speak in public are among the important competencies continuously developed within the school environment. Although conducted online, the students’ enthusiasm for learning and active participation remained consistently strong.
After the main programme concluded, the online learning activities continued with the distribution of academic assignments according to the Friday subject schedule by the teachers responsible for each lesson. The teachers provided guidance, explanations of learning materials, and structured assignments to ensure that the learning process remained effective. This online learning programme demonstrated that education and teaching can continue optimally even when carried out virtually. With proper preparation and support from all parties involved, online activities are still able to maintain the essence of education while shaping the character and skills of the students of SMP Al Siddiq International School.
