The Introduction to the Fifth Pillar of Islam activity was carried out by the kindergarten students of TK Al Siddiq on Thursday, 7 May 2026. This programme was one of the educational learning activities designed to introduce children to the pilgrimage of Hajj from an early age in a fun, interactive, and easy-to-understand manner. The entire activity took place on the Al Siddiq field and the first-floor area, which had been specially arranged to resemble the atmosphere of the Hajj pilgrimage as a means of introducing the fifth pillar of Islam.
The activity was attended by all TK Al Siddiq students with great enthusiasm and excitement. Two days before the event, the teachers distributed ihram cloths to the students as preparation for the activity. Male students were asked to wear their ihram garments from home on the day of the programme so that the atmosphere would feel more authentic and provide a memorable learning experience for the children.
Before the programme began, all students gathered in their classrooms for a briefing session with the teachers. During this session, the teachers explained the purpose of the activity, the educational benefits, and the sequence of activities that would take place from beginning to end. The explanations were delivered in simple and enjoyable language so that the children could easily understand them. The activity aimed to instil Islamic values, introduce the basic procedures of Hajj worship, and develop courage, discipline, and togetherness among the students.
After the briefing, the students were guided to the activity area to take part in a series of activities introducing the fifth pillar of Islam. The programme began with a group photo session in front of a miniature Ka‘bah prepared by the committee and teachers. Afterwards, the children participated in various simple simulations representing the stages of the Hajj pilgrimage, with teachers assisting at each activity station. All activities were designed in an educational and enjoyable way so that the children could learn while playing.
Through this programme, it is hoped that the students of TK Al Siddiq will gain a better understanding of one of the pillars of Islam through a fun and memorable experience. In addition to increasing religious knowledge, the activity also provided benefits in developing children’s character, such as discipline, patience, orderliness, independence, and the ability to follow instructions properly. The children also learned to help one another and maintain togetherness throughout the programme.
As a closing activity, the teachers distributed souvenirs to all students as a form of appreciation for their enthusiasm and participation during the event. After the programme had concluded, the students prepared to return home from school, bringing with them a new and memorable learning experience. It is hoped that this activity will become one of the beneficial learning methods for instilling Islamic values in children from an early age.
