Al Siddiq International Secondary School Qur’an Examination: Strengthening Memorisation and Nurturing a Generation of Confident Guardians of the Qur’an

Al Siddiq International Secondary School, June 2026 – Al Siddiq International Secondary School once again conducted its annual Qur’an Examination as part of the school’s flagship programme to nurture a generation that remains closely connected to the Holy Qur’an, with strong, accurate, and high-quality memorisation. The examination was held over two days, Monday, 15 June 2026, and Wednesday, 17 June 2026, following the completion of the End-of-Semester Examinations.

The programme began with the Dhuha prayer and a collective session of dhikr in the school’s mosque. All pupils participated solemnly in this spiritual preparation as a means of seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings before undertaking the examination. From the very beginning of the day, the atmosphere was peaceful, focused, and filled with enthusiasm.

During the examination, pupils were assessed on the Qur’anic memorisation they had submitted throughout the academic year. The assessment covered several important aspects, including the fluency of memorisation, accuracy of tajwid (rules of Qur’anic recitation), the quality of tahsin (beauty and correctness of recitation), and the pupils’ manners and conduct throughout the examination. Through this comprehensive assessment, the school emphasises not only the quantity of memorisation but also the quality of recitation and the cultivation of Qur’anic character within each pupil.

Conducting the Qur’an Examination separately from the academic examinations is one of the school’s strategic approaches to providing pupils with the opportunity to focus entirely on their Qur’anic preparation. With dedicated time allocated specifically for this purpose, pupils are able to revise their memorisation through muraja’ah, refine their recitation, and strengthen the memorisation they have acquired throughout the year. This approach enables them to perform to the best of their ability during the examination.

Through this programme, Al Siddiq International Secondary School reaffirms its commitment to making the Holy Qur’an one of the fundamental pillars of its educational philosophy. The Qur’an Examination is far more than an assessment of memorisation; it is a means of nurturing a deep love for the words of Allah, instilling discipline in preserving Qur’anic memorisation, and developing a generation with a strong Islamic identity and values.

It is our sincere hope that, through this continuous effort, Al Siddiq International Secondary School will produce graduates who are not only academically accomplished but also deeply connected to the Holy Qur’an, exemplary in character, and committed to applying Qur’anic values in their daily lives.
