On Thursday, 18 June 2026, Al Siddiq International Kindergarten proudly held Kindy Fest 2026 at the Kindy Fest Stage. This annual event was a cultural performing arts festival celebrating the rich heritage of West Java, Central Java, and East Java. It provided a special opportunity for the pupils to showcase what they had learned about Indonesia’s diverse cultural traditions, particularly the cultural heritage of Java, through a variety of engaging and meaningful performances.
Kindy Fest 2026 was attended by all pupils of Al Siddiq International Kindergarten together with their parents and guardians. The event was also honoured by the presence of the School Director, Mr Ginanjar, as well as the Principals of Al Siddiq International Primary and Secondary Schools. The attendance of the distinguished guests and families brought great encouragement to the children as they confidently and enthusiastically performed on stage, proudly demonstrating their talents before their parents and teachers.
The primary aim of Kindy Fest 2026 was to build the children’s confidence in performing before an audience. Through this event, the pupils learned to be courageous, work collaboratively, follow instructions, and express themselves positively. At the same time, the festival served as a platform for sharing the pupils’ learning outcomes regarding Indonesian culture. They were introduced to a variety of traditional Javanese games, including Oray-Orayan, Caca Burange, and Dolanan Jamuran, enabling them to develop a deeper appreciation and love for Indonesia’s cultural heritage from an early age.
The programme was hosted by Miss Inka and Miss Tika, who guided the event with warmth and enthusiasm. Following the opening, the audience enjoyed a beautiful recitation of the Holy Qur’an accompanied by Saritilawah, performed by Reno and Nala from Kindergarten B1. The programme then continued with a symbolic presentation of souvenirs to Zyan from Kindergarten B1 and Khansa from Kindergarten B2 by Mrs Rohmah, the Kindergarten Principal. Afterwards, the School Director, Mr Ginanjar, delivered an inspiring speech expressing his appreciation and full support for the successful organisation of Kindy Fest 2026.
The main programme began with a colourful fashion show featuring all Al Siddiq International Kindergarten pupils. The children proudly wore attractive costumes inspired by the cultural theme of the festival. This was followed by a special fashion show presented by the kindergarten teachers, adding excitement and enjoyment before the cultural performances began.
The first performance was presented by Group 1 of Kindergarten B1 (Ummu Kultsum Class), who delighted the audience with the traditional game Kaulinan Cacaburange and the lively Tokecang Dance. The second performance came from Group 1 of Kindergarten A (Zainab Class), who performed the energetic Jaranan Dance, complete with the traditional kuda lumping horse props. The third performance was presented by Kindergarten B2, featuring Dolanan Jamuran, a traditional children’s game that highlights the values of friendship and togetherness.
The fourth performance was delivered by Group 2 of Kindergarten B1 (Ummu Kultsum Class), who presented Kaulinan Oray-Orayan alongside the cheerful Cingcangkeling Dance, reflecting the joy of traditional children’s games. The fifth performance was presented by Group 2 of Kindergarten A (Zainab Class) with the lively Dondong Opo Salak Dance. Finally, the sixth performance was presented by Kindergarten B2 (Fatimah Azzahra Class), who entertained the audience with traditional pantun (rhyming verses) and the vibrant Rek Ayo Rek Dance, introducing the culture of East Java in a fun and engaging way.
The main performances concluded with a heartwarming presentation of Pileuleuyan, performed collectively by all the children. This final performance symbolised unity, gratitude, and celebration for the successful completion of the event. Afterwards, each class participated in a photo session with their parents, creating precious memories of a joyful and meaningful day. Parents were visibly proud and delighted to witness their children performing confidently on stage.
Before the event officially concluded, everyone gathered for a potluck meal, generously organised with the support of the parents. This warm gathering provided an opportunity for pupils, teachers, and families to share food, strengthen friendships, and celebrate togetherness. More than simply a performing arts festival, Kindy Fest 2026 became a memorable learning experience that encouraged children to appreciate Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage, develop confidence, and experience the true spirit of community within the school environment.
