Al Siddiq International Primary School once again provided students with a unique and engaging learning experience through a Profession Class entitled “The World of Snakes and How to Handle Them”, held on Friday, 28 August 2026.
Taking place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (WIB), the activity gave students the opportunity to learn more about the world of snakes while gaining valuable knowledge about how to respond to and handle encounters with snakes safely.
The Profession Class is one of the school’s learning initiatives that gives students opportunities to gain first-hand insights from the real world. Through activities such as this, students do not learn solely from textbooks and classroom lessons, but also gain new perspectives through topics that are closely connected to their everyday lives.
Exploring the World of Snakes
Snakes are animals that can be encountered in a variety of environments. However, for some children, encountering a snake can still be frightening and raise many questions.
Through the theme “The World of Snakes and How to Handle Them”, students were encouraged to learn about snakes from a more educational perspective. They discovered that snakes are an important part of the ecosystem and play a role in maintaining environmental balance.
The activity also gave students the opportunity to learn about the characteristics of snakes, understand their behaviour, and discover what to do if they encounter a snake in their surroundings.
With the right knowledge, students are expected to remain calm and avoid actions that could potentially put themselves or the animal at risk.
Learning How to Respond to Snakes Safely
One of the key elements of this Profession Class was helping students understand how to respond safely when encountering a snake.
Students were introduced to basic safety principles when coming across a snake. They learnt that safety should always be the top priority and that snakes should never be approached or handled carelessly.
This knowledge is particularly important because children need to understand how to behave when encountering animals that may pose a potential danger. With proper guidance, students can recognise appropriate actions and avoid risky behaviour.
Through an educational and enjoyable approach, students learnt that curiosity about animals should always be accompanied by caution, knowledge, and a sense of responsibility.
Learning Through Real-World Experiences
The Profession Class offered students a different kind of learning experience. The fascinating topic encouraged them to explore their curiosity and ask a variety of questions.
Activities such as this also help students connect what they learn at school with their everyday lives. They can see that the knowledge gained through education has practical value when dealing with different situations in their surroundings.
In addition to broadening their knowledge about snakes, the activity also helped develop students’ courage and self-confidence. They learnt to approach something they might previously have considered frightening in a calmer and more informed way.
Friday Sharing: Sharing Food with Friends
Following the Profession Class, Friday activities at Al Siddiq International Primary School continued with the warm and meaningful Friday Sharing programme.
As part of this activity, students were encouraged to bring food from home to share and enjoy with their classmates. The variety of food brought by the students created a joyful opportunity for everyone to spend time together.
Friday Sharing is more than simply eating together. Behind this simple activity are important values that the school seeks to nurture in its students: sharing, caring, gratitude, and appreciation for togetherness.
Students learnt that happiness can be found when we are willing to share with others. The food brought from home became a simple way for them to practise giving to their friends and enjoying meaningful moments together without differences or distinctions.
Through activities such as these, Al Siddiq International Primary School continues to create learning experiences that are fun, safe, meaningful, and memorable for all students.
It is hoped that this Profession Class will broaden students’ understanding of the world of snakes, raise awareness of the importance of safety, and encourage them to face new experiences with confidence and appropriate knowledge.
Meanwhile, through Friday Sharing, students are encouraged to become increasingly accustomed to sharing, caring for others, and expressing gratitude for the blessings they have.
Learning about nature, learning to stay safe, and learning to share with others — this is the spirit of Friday at Al Siddiq International Primary School.
