Al Siddiq Secondary School has once again held its Qur’an Munaqasyah as part of its monthly programme, supporting one of the school’s main missions: to develop students’ abilities in reading, memorising, and understanding the Qur’an.
This programme reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing a generation that excels not only academically but also possesses a strong foundation of faith and Qur’anic character. Through consistent engagement with the Qur’an, the school hopes to produce students who uphold Qur’anic values as guidance in their daily lives.
The Qur’an Munaqasyah is a memorisation certification examination specifically for students who have completed memorising at least one juz in full. This activity assesses not only the fluency of memorisation but also the quality of recitation in terms of tajwid, tahsin, and proper etiquette in reading and memorising the Qur’an.
This programme is expected to inspire students to compete in memorising the Qur’an and to continuously improve the quality of their memorisation. With clear targets and structured evaluation, students become more motivated to complete their memorisation effectively.
Passing the munaqasyah is a key requirement for students to receive a juz certificate from the school, as a form of appreciation for their achievement, discipline, and success in completing their Qur’anic memorisation.
In this month’s implementation, a total of 18 students participated in the munaqasyah examination, consisting of:
5 students taking the Juz 27 memorisation test
10 students taking the Juz 30 memorisation test
3 students taking the Juz 29 memorisation test
All participants were directly assessed by a panel of examiners comprising qualified Qur’an teachers from Al Siddiq Junior High School, who are experienced in tahfizh and tahsin.
This monthly munaqasyah activity serves as clear evidence of Al Siddiq Junior High School’s dedication to fostering a Qur’anic culture within the school environment. It is hoped that through this programme, more students will be encouraged to increase their memorisation, maintain the quality of their recitation, and practise the teachings of the Qur’an in their daily lives.
With a strong commitment to developing a Qur’anic generation, Al Siddiq Secondary School continues to strive to provide a balanced education that integrates intellectual, spiritual, and character development.
